anyone know anything about welcome dinners?  i saw the info from the beach resort saying that you can have a rehearsal dinner for a max of 40 people.  we plan to have a "welcome dinner" instead of a rehearsal dinner but already have over 50 guests booked - does this mean the hotel won't allow us to do it? or will they make me pay the $800 for a private dinner?

Thanks for the tips! I joined the FB group and I'll check out oyster.com

We are expected 100+ guests, and we have a few elderly guests. Our IDEAL setting would be ceremony on the beach, reception at an open-air restaurant (with a view) but we would need a dance floor, and a hard walking surface for the elderly guests. Has anyone done anything like this before?

Thanks!

Hi Ladies!!!

I'm fresh off my "Site Inspection" of the Suites....it was AMAZING!!! The resort is SPECTACULAR! All of the staff is very pleasant!

I met with Nicole briefly. She was very, very nice! Ladies, your gonna love this place! We didn't want to come home.

I also did an engagement session with Michael and Olive of Saab Weddings!!! The pics came out FAB! They are both so easy going. The make an excellent team!

I've already booked my wedding for Dec. 8,  2013.

I can't wait to go back!smile123.gif

Happy planning!

You can have a welcome/rehearsal dinner (it is the same event, just semantics of the name) the night before by having Nicole / Tiffany make a dinner reservation for your entire group.  We had over 40 people at the suites and had our welcome dinner at the Mexican Restaurant.  Your only restriction will be if the bride and groom of that day reserve the restaurant that you want.  They will take priority over you.  I don't remember how many the Mediterranean Restaurant holds, but that may also be a restriction if you have too many people.  I gave a first choice and a second choice when I sent my detail form back, so I figured I would get one of them.  I confirmed which restaurant I was going to use about 2 weeks before, and then emailed all of my guests for their food selections.  I did it as an 'are you getting excited' sort of email.  Worked out perfectly.

Hi,

We are thinking of having our wedding in this resort next year in November (no definite date, yet). Is it better to go with a TA or contact the resort directly?

Thanks!

Rachell

My TA helped arrange everything and got us help with getting more prompt responses. I vote TA.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
