Hi ladies

I am Getting married in February 2013 at the Barcelo Palace in the Riviera Maya and I have looked over a few forums and was wondering if any has any advice for me and if you got married there or have stayed there how was it?

I am a little nervous but super excited!! we have been together 10 wonderful years and have an amazing 8 yr old daughter. Does any one have any advice on how we can include her in the wedding? I am thinking of doing something special for her during the ceremony but I don't know what yet, any ideas?

Thanks for your help!!! I am so happy that I found this place :)

Has anyone used the barcelo experience photographers? I am wondering about using them or finding someone if they allow it. If you have used them can you tell how it went?  or who did you use? I am nervous because my brother in law got married in the DR at a gran bahia  and all the pics have a weird coloring to them (kinda yellow, his gray suit looks green). Thanks so much for your help.

Wow these are beautiful!! thank you for the info, do you know what their policy is at the moment? I have written an email asking about outside photographers but haven't gotten a response yet. I would feel more comfortable being able to choose but I guess I have to wait and see.  I love you website and was wondering you could please email me some package information to angelaisacson@hotmail.com. Thanks so much!!

Hey Angela2013...I too am planning a wedding at the Palace! I debated on hiring the resort photographers as well but didn't find their packages to be all that great price wise and I also found their pics to be very basic and boring and as much as we want to watch our budget we also want great pictures of our special day. The outside vendor fee was $300 to be paid to the onsite photogrpahers (I think this is awful), but I recently saw on here that it has gone up to $500 for 2012. Darn it!  I mean check around, some people give the on site photographers good reviews but others not so much...I guess it all depends on what you are looking for in your pics.

Cheers and happy planning!

I agree an the packages, I find it silly how much they want for an hour and like 40 pictures. Thanks for the info on the fee, I would definitely rather pay it and feel confident about my pictures then to have no idea and be a nervous wreck about them.

  • 2 weeks later...

Congrats and welcome!  I've done many shoots at the Barcelo and they have had different policies concerning outside photographers.  The most recent information I have is either a $500 fee or a minimum 2 nights stay for the photographer.  Be sure to choose a photographer that will do you justice on that special day.  I have a few of the weddings I've done on MY BLOG so you can get some inspiration and ideas!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
