Hi!

I just joined the site today and figured I would introduce myself. My name is Melissa and im planning on getting married in Playa del Carmen on November 2, 2012. I got engaged while vacationing in Playa in October and had a chance to meet with Gelena (www.weddingsrivieramaya.com). I just recently hired Gelena and the next step is finding a location! While I was there, I was able to see Mahekal resort and Grand Coral Beach club and liked both. I liked the beach club a little bit more because it felt more private and intimate as opposed to the public beach of Mahekal. Does anyone have any venue suggestions that isnt a big resort?

 

Also, any suggestions for a place to do rehearsal dinner and photographer would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Melig015!

 

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on your recent engagement!! I have a fabulous a fabulous photographer and boutique hotel to recommend to you! I was married in Riviera Maya and recently just had my trash the dress session with http://www.delsolphotography.com (who also did my wedding). I could not recommend anyone higher! Their work is complete art...truly breathtaking. I've included some photos below :) 

 

We stayed at Le Reve Hotel & Spa and it was FABULOUS! It's a boutique hotel (25 rooms) and it feel like your hundreds of miles into the jungle with every amenity you could possibly need (even though it's only about 15 minutes out of Playa del Carmen! Del Sol and Le Reve are actually running a great promotion so you could definitely take advantage of that! Congratulations and welcome to the forums! If you are considering a small boutique style resort that is small and intimate outside of Playa del Carmen... I would also suggest looking into Ceiba del Mar! It is a fantastic little resort and you will feel like you own it all. So picturesque and a fantastic spot for a wedding.

congrats!!! I'm also a Nov 2012 bride - welcome to the forum. 

 

We are going with the resort route, so I don't have any advice for you. Good luck with the search!!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
