Hi! I found this thread through searching for wedding reviews.... I'm getting married at the rui this May! And I see you've received emails from your wedding coordinator already .. I'm still waiting for mine to contact me.... I got the caprice package as well ... Would you mind sending me some of the info that you've received from your coordinator? Anything would help :) jviray@hotmail.com

Thanks!

I was looking for wedding pictures for Riu Santa Fe, and came across your post.  I found it entertaining that your wedding is November 16 as ours is November 14 so looks like we will both be having our weddings and groups down there at the same time.  I have booked the date but same as you have not talked to a Co ordinator.  I hope we both have wonderful weddings!

Hello Brides!

I am planning to get married at the RIU in Jan 2013, does anyone know about catering at the resort, we want to do a more specialized menu and want to have our reception on the beach ( not in one of the resturants ) does anyone know if this is an option or is this something an outside vendor would have to do ?

Any info would be great :)  Thanks girls and congrats to all !

Hello all, I am getting married at the Sante Fe November 12th.  We were going to go to the palace in Puerto Vallarta but signature pulled their flights out of Victoria after giving us quotes and all.  I am excited to go to Cabo though and so is most of our group as no one has been before.  I know at the Palace in Cabo you can have a Dj on the beach or other areas, you just pay a set up fee and receptions on the beach too. You just pay for it.  I would assume the Sante fe does the same thing? Does anyone know? I also would like an option for after dinner.  Is all they are offering is renting out the disco? I have also seen bonfires on the beach but i am not sure if that is an option.

Any info would be appreciated also!

Hi Everyone!!

My Fiance and I have booked our wedding for January 17, 2013 at the Riu Santa Fe.  I see that a couple of you have already celebrated your wedding vacations there - any tips/info that would be helpful to know?  We will be having our ceremony/reception at the resort, most probably a beach ceremony.  Any reviews on the resort spa for hair/makeup?  I appreciate any feedback!

Congrats to all, ladies!!

Congratulations!!! You will absolutely love it!. Do not worry about any of the small stuff or people not responding to you promptly- once you get there, EVERYTHING is taken care of and it's absolutely perfect!! I wish I would not have stressed about so much stuff because it's all out of your hands..  Are you having a videoographer ? That was one of the only things I wish I would have done. Also, if you're wearing a flower make sure its on your right side so it shows in picture while you're at the alter, silly I know, but I did regret that.  The dinner was great. We had ours at the steakhouse over looking the pool and it was so pretty for pictures! The cake, so so lol but it seems like all desserts f Mexico are like that. Just relax and have fun. They kind of just push u into it and then its over but I don't regret doing it this way at all.  We did not rent out the disco or anything like that.  After the wedding, we had our champagne on the beach and took a chair that they used for the wedding and tossed the garter and bouquet on the beach- it made for some pretty pictures.   What colors are you planning on doing for the wedding? I think the only color or bows they have for the chair is purple, silver, and gold (by gold, it's very very gold) not something I would have liked but everyone has different tastes.  I did purple and it was really pretty! I have a facebook under tiffanylramsey@gmail.com if you want to request me as a friend and you are more than welcome to look at my pics of the wedding- I LOVED MY FLOWERS ;) ... anyway, let me know if you have any more questions

Thanks for the review, and glad to hear everything went smoothly. Surprisingly (as I am naturally an anal-control freak planner :P), I am not stressing about not having contact with the WC until 1 1/2-2 months before - I trust that they will make sure everything is planned properly and will work with me to deliver on all my visions. Good to hear that they were on top of everything for the big day!! Yes, we are planning on having a local videographer capture the day for us (breaks the budget, but after viewing the videos I could not say no!). Didn't even think about the flower for photos during the ceremony...unfortunately I will have to have it on my left side because of the way my hair parts and where my hair will be gathered - I'll just make sure my photographer is running around taking pics from all angles, lol! For the dinner we are planning on the Steakhouse as well - did you do the semi-private or private? Our colour is a turquoise-type blue, but am going to bring my own chair sashes for the ceremony because I know they do not offer that colour. The purple must have looked nice!! Great to hear you were happy with your hair!! I plan to bring multiple pictures too, and trust that they will do a good job!! On my iPhone Facebook it is not giving me the option to search by email - what is your name you are under on it (thank you for the offer to be able to look at your photos!!) Thanks again for your help, and so happy your day went well!! Congrats and all the best for a happy and healthy marriage :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
