I new to this wedding planning and I've never been to a destination wedding, so I was wondering about your OOT bags...how much do they cost on average? do you give one to everyone or one per couple? when do you give them to your guests? are they in lieu of wedding favours on your dinner tables? Any help appreciated!

Hi cantstopsmiling! There is a lot of room for individuality in making OOT bags. Personally, I'm making one per couple and am giving them to the guests when we arrive at the resort. Cost depends on what you choose to include. I think that mine will end up costing about $25.00 per bag. I've read posts from people who were able to put together beautiful bags for mush less. I've also seen more expensive ones. Hope this helps :)

Hi Cantstopsmiling,

I am also doing 1 OOT Bag per couple. I bought my bags off of cheaptotes.com and used iron on transfers to personalize the bags. My OOT bags probably will cost $30 but I am not going to do favors. Some resorts will not allow you to ship the supplies to the resort  ahead of time. If every bride sent them ahead of time that would be a lot of supplies they would have to store. I am bringing my OOT bags with me in a collapsable duffle bag because after i hand them out I can put the duffle bag in my suit case. Hope it helps.

I am making one per couple and I think they will end up being about $25-$30 each. Maybe a bit more, but we are only making 7 or 8 of them since we are inviting immediate family only. A lot of the thing I am putting in them are small so I think I will buy a space saver bag to bunch up most of the clothes and hopefully that will leave enough room in our check back for the other wedding stuff we are bringing. We also plan to buy stuff to put in them when we get to Hawaii (like soda, beer, chips, water, and cookies). I have a line on the RSPV for people to let us know what day and time they are arriving so we hope to meet up with everyone upon their arrival to give them away, We will not be doing favors.

I bought by bags off Vistaprint with a Groupon and in addition to the stuff everyone does (like Tylenol, Advil, Pepto, Band-Aids), I am also including a pineapple shaped bottle opener, coozies that look like Hawaiian t-shirts, and beach mats.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
