2013 Grand Palladium Jamaica Brides

Recommended Posts

My fiance and I went to GPLH 2 years ago and loved it!  We are getting married on the beach May 28, 2013.  The beaches are nice but can be rocky.  One section of the beach there were people on a boat getting rocks out.  The beach might be my least favorite part.  We loved the resort and everyone at the resort.  Don't get me wrong...the beaches are nice just not your Beaches or Sandals pictures you see.

As far as the beach being man-made, I don't think so, but you can check out the Trip Advisor reviews online and view all of the pictures.

I  have been to this resort before, 2 years ago, and it is amazing.  There are 3 beaches, the main beach, adults only and the water sports beach.  All are nice, just a little rocky.  If that's an issue for you, just bring some water shoes. :)

@ Sherlohnes - I suggest you contact Shanience Morris. Her email is [email protected].  She usually responds within a day or so.  If you would like an immediate answer, try calling the resort Phone: (876) 619-0000 * 633-9900-9 (ext: 8251) and ask for the wedding department.  In order to book my ceremony and reception, I had to call because no one was responding to my email requests.  If you call, call around 10am.  It's hit or miss whether or not someone answers the phone.  I am assuming they are out working on weddings all day.

Hope this helps!

Hey Everyone!

My fiancee and I are getting married at the GPLH on Jan 18, 2013 at 10am. By the time we booked in April, the only spots left were 10am :(

We're having a private reception at Posideons at 7pm.

My biggest concern is what to do with the guests between the ceremony and the reception/dinner. We thought about chartering a bus to take us into  Montego Bay and do shopping and food. But I'm just not sure. It is a long time between the ceremony and reception. I don't want my hair to get wrecked and my makeup to melt off. I guess everyone could just do their own thing, I just hate that they got up early and got all dressed up for 30mins of ceremony and then have to cool their heels for so long in between. Was just wondering if you guys have any suggestions?

Our wedding is costing a lot too.  I have 50 ppl so far confirmed, so technically thats $20 pp for the ceremony and at least $45pp for the private dinner reception.  Plus the cost of the actual ceremony package, plus entertainment at the ceremony and reception, plus additional flowers for bm and gm, etc.  Add your trip and dress in there and tt all adds up!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hey Amanda,

That would be awesome if you could send their price list! What wedding package are you booking? We are going with Island pearl(I think it is called) and in the description it lists wedding photos-I wonder what this entails?

Yes, I agree with you-I think 2 hrs would cover what we really need and then friends and family can take pics getting ready and at the reception.

We are budgeting about 10 grand total for everything(more then we anticipated when we decided to do a destination wedding) but it is still less expensive then doing a wedding at home and we get a whole week to celebrate with friends and family. D

o you have any idea what bouquets for the bridesmaids cost?

Looks like we are arriving and getting married the week after you!

I would imagine everyone would get undressed and enjoy the pool, weather, beaches ect. for the time in between and then just get showered and dressed for the evening reception just like they would any other day that they are there. You could definitely do a group excursion and offer it to those that want to hang out with the new bride and groom for the day though. I am not familiar with all of the excursions offered but I am guessing you wouldn't want one that involves swimming or ruining your hair and make up. What if you did a ladies shopping trip and the men went golfing? There is a golf course close by?

Hey there!  Yes, I will try and PM the list.  Sometimes this website won't let you send attachments though.  If it doesn't work, I can also email it over to you if you want.  As well, they have a website and blog, so be sure to check out their work!

We are also booking the Island Pearl package!  And I am bringing all of my own real touch bouquets and bouts from Bloom Bridal located in Toronto, as well as my own centrepieces.  I have heard that it costs around $150 per bridesmaids bouquet, so this saves a ton, and the bouquets are absolutely beautiful.

Our budget is similar to yours.

We are actually staying an extra week after for our honeymoon, so maybe we'll see you!  What date and time is your wedding??

I just booked my wedding date for May 27th at 4pm at GPLH.  I know someone who has been and said it was great.  I was looking at Iberostar also in the beginning (like you said cause the beaches), but the suites were out of dates for May. I asked immediate family and they thougth Iberostar Grand was just too much $$. But, I just made my May 27th 2013 date official and I'm pumped. My ladies name is Erika and she has been on top of responding to me. I am doing the Waves of Love at the Gazebo or Atrium. I am going to add on a violin. I was also deciding about a reception or just normal dinner. Can anyone explain to me the add on of the reception dinner if I choose to .. costs etc?  I'm getting pumped! :) Maybe I'll even see some of y'all!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
