Lena,

That can't be right!  They put my centerpieces on the table with no problem at all!

I did not get the extra lighting.  At the blue lagoon, our DJ did have lights shining up on 2 pillars (and it did look nice).  However, It just didn't seem worth it to me to spend all that money on extra lights, and I thought the reception still looked really nice without them.

Yeah, Lorraine also told me that $200 was the cost for decoration setup, but I fought back because I was also being charged $300 for extra coordination since I'm having several events and taking up two ceremony timeslots (gotta love Indian weddings!) So she agreed to just charge the $300 and include decoration set up in that. Hope this helps!

I'm now rethinking weather the DJ lights are necessary! Hmmmmm...

Kristin,

So you didn't buy any lighting but there were two uplights included anyway? I didn't realize those were included as I'm paying $400 for uplighting and dance floor laser! Now rethinking whether it's worth it if there is some lighting included anyway....

So much great information! I have a question that I don´t seem to be able to get an answer to anywhere. Is the spa good at doing hair?? Or what did you all do?

I am only interested in hair, but the only info I can find is about make-up. I hope someone can help me. I am really interested in knowing what the brides who got married at GPLH did. Is there a vendor fee or is it enough with a daypass if you bring in a hairdresser from outside?

Hi Tininha, If you go to some of the earlier post, you can read some of the bride's comments about their hair experiences and the Spa. They basically did not have good things to say. As for bringing anyone in from the outside, you have to pay a $80 day pass fee for a hairdresser or make-up artist. Hope that helps. Lena

Thanks Lena, that helps. I have a really hard time finding a hairdresser from outside though, there seems to be only make up artists and they can bring a hairstylist...but that would be 2 daypasses then right? Does anyone know the hairstylist that Pretty Faces use? Are they good? What are you all going to do? So may questions;o). Help...!

Hello Brides

My wedding is next week....July 23rd.  We are leaving this weekend and I can't wait!!

As i'm tying up all the loose ends before I leave I had one question....

Does the resort accept credit card to pay for the balance of the wedding?

I don't feel comfortable travelling with a large amount of cash.  I did email the wedding coordinator but it takes a while for her to respond.

Thanks Ladies!

They do accept credit cards.  Just make sure you tell your bank that you will be in Jamaica, because my dad did not and when he went to pay it did not go through!  He then had to call the bank and get it straightened out.  Also, he has bank of america....they charge international fees with every transaction you make.  So with a $7000 , he had like a $200 fee from BOA!  I would check your credit cards/banks and use whichever one doesn't charge a fee!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
