Hi ladies! I am getting married at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton on May 21, 2014! The information you've already provided has been really helpful - thanks! Some of you have mentioned that you had a welcome dinner. What venues did you use and did the dinner double the cost of your wedding? I have 50 confirmed guests (will likely have 60 in the end) and would like to have a dinner with all of them. Also, did any of you do a bonfire beach party? I heard that the resort might not do beach bonfires anymore but I'm not sure. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Hi TheoSimon Congratulations!! I'm getting married the day before on the 20th... How exciting!! I'm doing a welcome dinner, but were just going to all head to one of the restaurants to eat and not do it like a evening reception. From what I gather from other people are doing the same and this way you don't have to pay extra. There is only 16 of us thou travelling from the uk, so might be easier to do. A number of people contacted the wedding planner to arrange it, so maybe worth a try??? I'm not sure about the bonfire but interested in finding out as we were looking to do something like this in the evening of the wedding xx

Hi Ywilliams! How exciting that we'll be there at the same time and getting married so closely together! Congrats to you too! I did get some details from my wedding planner about the rehearsal and bonfire ideas and here's what we've decided... The night before the wedding, we'll have a "rehearsal dinner" of sorts at one of the buffet restaurants for all the guests at no extra cost (as you mentioned). The night of our arrival (May 17), we'll do a bonfire on the beach. The cost for the bonfire is $500USD for 45 minutes. The tables are high tables with chairs (cocktail style). Beach cocktail open bar $6US per person / per hour and with appetizers $15US per person / per hour. If you want the rental of the music equipment, the cost is $150US and you could play your own music. Are you doing any other activities during your wedding week? Maybe we can share information and ideas or potentially pair up our groups for an excursion to get discounts?

Hello

I know lol

Thank you for sharing that information. Yeah Iâ€m going to do it in one of the buffet restaurant too. We arrive on the 14th and the rest of our guests arrive on the 15th and we are there for 2 weeks.

How long are you in Jamaica for?

Where are you from?

Iâ€m from London (UK) originally but now i live in Newcastle Upon Tyne (UK) now.

Good Idea!!

What Colour theme are you going for?

Well were planning to go swim with Dolphins, and I want to go to Ricks place. The rest Iâ€m going to let my partner choose as Iâ€ve been to Jamaica 5 times and done loads of trips and my cousins took me out on day trips (Iâ€m hoping heâ€ll do the same this time as I would rather pay him they a company) but if not Iâ€ll take Rob to duns river and there is a Kingston trip which is also a bit of an island tour too.  We will defiantly go to Negril & Montego Bay.

Not sure what the rest of our group will want to do lol

What trips are you fancying?

xx

We're from Ottawa and will by flying out of Montreal. 1/3 of our group is flying in from Toronto, 1/3 from Montreal, and 1/3 from other countries. We will have 50 guests in total. We haven't thought too much about day trips yet but will likely have only one excursion to either Dunns River Falls or Ricks Cafe, depending on which one is closer/easier to access. We will only be there for one week (September 17-24). That's pretty exciting that you'll be there for two weeks! Lucky guests too!

Just wondering for those people flying to Jamaica from Canada in June, July or August of 2014 how much have you been quoted for prices for you guests. We're flying from Edmonton and Toronto and haven't received any numbers yet, which is driving me nuts, lol

Wow 50 guests, that will be lovely. Ricks cafe is nearer as in Negril & Duns River is near Ochie. It takes 11hrs flight time from London & Manchester so everyone wanted to stay 2 weeks too. I can't wait!! Have you got your dress yet? Have you picked a colour theme? Xx

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
