@IrieBride - Yes, I think that would be useful! When we arrived at the resort, I handed out an itinerary which had our welcome dinner time and place, wedding rehearsal info and wedding info.  I wanted to be careful not to plan too much for our guests, as it is not just our wedding, but their vacation as well. A large group of us did a tour through the hotel that went to Margaritaville and Rick's cafe one day. It was inexpensive and not planned in advance, and it worked out really well.  Another idea (if you haven't already done so) is to make a free wedding website.  It's so easy to keep all of your quests up to date on all travel and wedding events.  Other than that, when you get there, just tell people you will be hanging out by the pool most days and to meet up with you there!  Hope that helps :)

Hi Amanda, I saw you wrote that on your itinerary you were having a wedding rehearsal. Were you able to do that? I wasn't sure if that was possible. Also when did your wedding coordinator get in touch with you? I'm getting married in less than 2 months and Omeshia has answered questions for me, but she said a wedding coordinator has to be assigned to me. Thanks

Hi there!  I actually planned a rehearsal on my own, the actual wedding coordinator wasn't there.  Basically I just arranged a time the day before the wedding and before dinner for the wedding party to meet at the gazebo and just do a run through of the ceremony and where I wanted everyone, etc.  I had my meeting with the coordinator that same day, so she filled me in on how the day would go and where everyone should stand, etc. After that, the boys and girls went their separate ways for bachelor/bachelorette dinners.  It worked out really well.

I had been in constant contact by email with a girl in the wedding department for months, she left the resort so another girl, Nekeisha Reid, started responding to my emails.  She actually ended up being my wedding coordinator.  I'm not sure how they decide that, but you should definitely have a coordinator 2 months prior to the wedding.  I would email Omeshia and ask her if she is going to be your wedding coordinator, or  if you are going to be assigned to someone else.

Hope that helps!

Amanda :)

I was finally assigned my wedding coordinator. Only a month and a half to go before my wedding, but at least they didn't forget (but I think the email that I sent also helped). I got Loraine. Hope she's good :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
