2013 Grand Palladium Jamaica Brides

Hi guys, So I just confirmed this with my WC. They charge $80 each for a make up artist and assistant (by the way, if you use Rashel Edwards trying to say she's a guest won't work because she's too well known). If you use an outside DJ or photographer, they charge $300 each per vendor basically because you went outside the resort instead of using their own. Basically if you think about it, the DJ is just making his money back for not being used since his cost is $300 for 3 hrs. I think it's outrageous, but I refused to use True Colors and I want my own DJ, so I guess I'm paying $760 (makeup plus DJ and photographer, insane!)

Hello Ladies

I'm getting married at GPLH 5 weeks today!! I'm so excited! I have a few questions...

My ceremony is at the angels atrium, do they have a cart or train that will take me and my bridal party to the atrium? its a faaar walk from the honeymoon villa's.

also, is there a place for us to "hide" so that the guests (or groom) dont see us coming?

Our dinner is at the Blue Lagoon, we are having a buffet style dinner (no dj or dancing)

My question is...is there a bar at the blue lagoon? is it extra?

I did email my coordinator but she takes a while to reply back.

Thanks ladies,

Sher

Congrats Sher!  You must be getting so excited!

Yes, your wedding coordinator will arrange a pick up for you at your room.  As well, they will tell all of your guests to wait outside of their villa's so that they can catch a ride as well around 20 minutes before your ceremony.   I believe they sneak you around the back of the spa so that no one sees you ;)

If you are paying for a private dinner function and are paying per person, than yes, the bar is included in this cost and is open for the 4 hours of the wedding.

Hope that helps!

For the other ladies, hope you found my review ok!

:)

Sher - when is your wedding? Mine is July 24 on the beach - sounds like we might be there at the same time!!  Are you guys just gonna go the disco after your dinner? That is what we will do, we are not paying for a DJ either.

Amanda - I am thinking about writing a note to our guests that they will get in their room, with a few suggested group get togethers. Do you think that would be useful? I can't see how else to plan group stuff. It wouldn't be practical to call everyone all the time! I don't want to not see my group the whole week and I know some people want to get together for pool time/drinks etc. Any suggestions??

thanks ladies! Sarah

We aren't getting married until January 11, 2014 but we are going to use Vistaprint.com to print itineraries for the guests to include in their welcome bags. We are planning on doing a tour on Thursday, a Groomsmen vs. Bridesmaids sand volleyball matchup on Friday, wedding and reception on Saturday and brunch on Sunday. That way the guests can come to as many or as few of these as they want, but they will at least know where we are at certain times if they want to see us. Hope this is helpful!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
