2013 Grand Palladium Jamaica Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi chelsea, Poisedon is very nice... uts on the far side of the resort... pretty seckuded and on top of the nicest beach they have. You will see the best sunset views from this restaurant. My reception was at the blue lagoon.... very nice and large.. but not much privacy from other guests. Your wedding will be beautiful.

Mel... i booked 10 months in advance and we were able to reserve 30 rooms no problem. Not everyone was in the same villa...but we were pretty close. The issue might be that you are booking too far in advance. Most travel companies dont even have rates until june for the following year. The only thing i would do is reserve your wedding day/time with the resort.... a 300 fee .... and then checkwith travel companies as it gets closer For april 2014... i dont think rates will even be out until after june 2013. They have a lot of rooms there... i dont think availability....esp in april will be a problem. Just my advice though.

Were super excited that we booked with GP for April 4,2013

Ceremony: 4pm beach

Reception: 6pm Blue lagoon

Now I have a few questions if anyone can answer them. First off I just contacted the WC, she told me I need to get our legal documents notarized? Has anyone else had to do this if so how do I go abouts to finding someone to do this? As for the reception does the resort offer anything as far as name tags? programs? any sort of decoration for center piece?

I was able to find a photographer in town (kitchener waterloo) thats willing to do our photos and trash the dress for the cost of his flight and accommodation, how ever editing when we get back is extra. Hes willing to bunk with anyone which saves us. If anyone is interested.

As for the DJ? I know its $300 (for 3hours) has anyone heard good or bad? And was thinking of steel drum band?

I did book my hair already, debating if I should get make up done there or do it myself. But a 10% discount was applied to our deposit of 50% for hair.

Anyone know what are the chances for room upgrade for bride and groom? The honeymoon suite with the out door shower looks amazing =)

We had to get our documents notarized, we had our lawyer do it and then scanned the documents and emailed them to GP. Just look up lawyers or notary publics in the yellow pages if you don't already have someone you work with.

We are also bringing a photographer from home with us.

We will be using the steel drum band but I feel the DJ is too expensive, I think its 300 for an hr, not 3 hrs. We are bringing down our BOSE system and will just use that for music.

We also want to get an upgrade for our room, our agent said she would try to work on it for us but isn't sure he can get it. I plan on calling the resort myself to try and swing something.

Do they tell you about the wedding ceremony so that I can make my own programs?  Or should I just make it basic?  I want to try and make some that looks like a fan in case its hot the guest can use it to fan themselves.  I dont know if I should ask the WC since she keeps telling me we can do everything when we get there.  This is one thing I would need to do ahead of time.

Hi future brides! My fiance and I have booked GPLH for april 2014, we thought we were being very proactive booking so far in advance, seems not to be true. We just heard back from our travel agent and he is saying with 15 months until the wedding, there are only 6 regular rooms left and our guests will now have to book the the upgraded rooms that start at $40 more per couple. We don't understand how there can be a shortage of rooms so far in advance, the only thing we can think of is our travel company has only booked a small number of rooms with the resort and they are filling up? If anyone has had similar issues, or knows of a travel company that may hold a larger number of rooms, as we are hoping to have 50-60 guests. If anyone knows which other travel companies book at GPLH, that would also be helpful. Thanks in advance

We are getting married at GP Jamaica on the beach on January 11, 2014. We have put down our $300 deposit, have approximately 30 confirmed guests. We are doing the cheap package, the Palladium Sapphire package, unsure on photos yet. I emailed the wedding coordinator and she sent me photos of the bouquets that are included in the package price, and we chose colors of red and yellow to go with those flowers. All the details of the private receptions seem really expensive, so we are undecided on what to do. We also got fake bridesmaids bouquets and boutonnières to make it easier and save costs. Does anyone have any additional advice on anything we may be missing? Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
