I have been out of the loop lately and not been on this forum. I booked with Merrick Cousley for my photography. Heard great things about him from the 2012 and prior posts. So far he's been great. Booked with DJ Kevan. Finally going dress shopping after christmas for me and my girls. I'm in contact constantly with Sharlene, who actually answers questions so if someone needs pictures or answers. I may have them because I have bugged her about everything including prices for outside vendors, outside guests, pics for restaurants, places, all menus, rehearsal dinners, and etc. For people that are getting married soon, what did you do for tuxedos/suits? Did your guys rent them or did they have to buy them? We are having the hardest them finding a place because everyone wants their suit back the next day. Since we are in Jamaica that is not happening. Suggestions????? And I love the pier 1 idea for centerpieces, I will look into that. I'm sure the January wedding will be absolutely beautiful!!!!!

CourtBestBride---I asked the WC about a seating chart and she told me that I can just decide on it when I get down there.  She did tell me that if we were to do round tables that they seat 8 people comfortably (this is in the Blue Lagoon).  Keep me posted with what you find out, your wedding is coming up very soon :)

I dont think that I am going to do a seating chart.  We have 48 people and Im just going to do a head table then let everyone sit with who they want so it will be one less thing to have to travel with.

I have a seating chart template for the blue lagoon. We did 7 round tables with 8 people...set up lkind of like how the 5 looks on a dice and then 2 more at the top on either side for our parents tables. Worked out perfectly. Most of your planning and finalizing will takeplace when u get there.

Hi future brides!

My fiance and I have booked GPLH for april 2014, we thought we were being very proactive booking so far in advance, seems not to be true. We just heard back from our travel agent and he is saying with 15 months until the wedding, there are only 6 regular rooms left and our guests will now have to book the the upgraded rooms that start at $40 more per couple. We don't understand how there can be a shortage of rooms so far in advance, the only thing we can think of is our travel company has only booked a small number of rooms with the resort and they are filling up? If anyone has had similar issues, or knows of a travel company that may hold a larger number of rooms, as we are hoping to have 50-60 guests. If anyone knows which other travel companies book at GPLH, that would also be helpful. Thanks in advance

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
