2013 Grand Palladium Jamaica Brides

Hey girls,

I am brining in an outside vendor for hair and make up and I had no idea the fee was $300!! I thought it was around $60.......

I am pretty sure it is $60 for someone to come to the resort for the day so why couldn't the outside vendor we are bringing(whether it be for make up or photography ect.) just say they are a guest of the wedding?

Thats what Ill try to do, I can't imagine paying another $300 on top of what I am paying for hair and makeup-maybe I should have looked into this more before I booked my MUA-lol

Hey,

congrats first of all. Were planning our wedding for April 4,13. I have asked around and its cheaper to fly out a photographer. Were in kitchener waterloo area and have a great photographer thats willing to do our photos for the week for the cost of his trip. If your interested. As well as far as DJ goes I think were using the hotel one for $300 (3hours)

Hi brides 2013!!!!

Were super excited that we booked with GP for April 4,2013

Ceremony: 4pm beach

Reception: 6pm Blue lagoon

Now I have a few questions if anyone can answer them. First off I just contacted the WC, she told me I need to get our legal documents notarized? Has anyone else had to do this if so how do I go abouts to finding someone to do this? As for the reception does the resort offer anything as far as name tags? programs? any sort of decoration for center piece?

I was able to find a photographer in town (kitchener waterloo) thats willing to do our photos and trash the dress for the cost of his flight and accommodation, how ever editing when we get back is extra. Hes willing to bunk with anyone which saves us. If anyone is interested.

As for the DJ? I know its $300 (for 3hours) has anyone heard good or bad? And was thinking of steel drum band?

I did book my hair already, debating if I should get make up done there or do it myself. But a 10% discount was applied to our deposit of 50% for hair.

Anyone know what are the chances for room upgrade for bride and groom? The honeymoon suite with the out door shower looks amazing =)

I was just at a wedding in Mexico few weeks ago, and the bride there told me to make sure to give extra time for hair. They may be a little slower there what we are used to. She had her hair apt for 12 and was out at 3 which made her rush for her 4pm ceremony. Hope that helps. The prices are CRAZY expensive

I got the quote from the hotel band and they told me that it was $300 per hour and a minimum of 3 hours.  I am not sure about the documents being notarized.  I have sent in a scanned copy of our driver license and birth certificates and I didn't get a response about anything else being needed.  I guess I should email the WC and check.

If you hear about anything else being needed please let me know.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
