We are getting married on January 31, 2013 in the Gazebo @ 4pm.  Private reception to follow at the Poiseidon, as I have heard the same thing about the loud reggae band starting around 9pm.

I actually just received an email from my WC, who is Nekeisha:)

I have chosed the Waves of Love package, as my bridesmaids dresses are a light aqua/mint color, and flowers will be very deep/vibrant purple.  I am most likely going to have small bouquets made for them, as well as the corsages/boutinierres (sp?) for the guys, however wasn't sure what to really do for my own bouquet?  I was thinking mainly white with a hint of the aqua & purples in with it...

I was just planning on bringing an Ipod docking station down for our music...but I really don't like the idea of someone having to constantly monitor it & change it...plus I only have a total of 29-ish people attending, 8 of which are part of the bridal party so it's not a huge amount.

I'm having a hard time with figuring out centerpieces too...I already feel like I'm going to be bringing way too much luggage with me, so I'd like something light...a few people have mentioned using the bridesmaid bouquets and putting them in vases, that's a good idea, and i have a few packages of those expanding water bead things, so maybe that will be the way to go:)

Does anyone have any experience with their hairdresser?  I have super long, fine hair and I'm so scared that it will be completely flat & gross looking by the time I walk down the aisle...what time should I be scheduling a hair appointment for if my wedding is at 4:00?

Anyway, looking forward to hearing more peoples thoughts & ideas!

Hey! We are getting married the day before on the 30th! :) so exciting, I can't believe how quickly time is going by. Our ceremony is 4pm on the beach, followed by a reception at the blue lagoon. I also heard from a few brides about the reggae band but I spoke with someone who was there recently and she saw a bride give each band member $20 to keep it down and play their slower tunes until 10pm. Money talks there apparently. So I'm going to try that and then have all of our speeches done by 9pm. We have 70 people and we orginally had the Poseidon but had the oppourtunity to switch so I did because I wanted to make sure there is enough room for a big dance floor. But the Poseidon looks stunning. I'm still a bit sad it won't be there lol It will go perfectly with the waves of love colours.

We have the waves of love package too. I bought all the centerpieces from Pier 1, I attached a pic. I also bought little starfish tea lights because I love the look of all candles on the tables, espeically when it's an open air space like that. So i'm hoping for no wind! lol

I'm going to do the same with the bridemaid's flowers for the head table. I think that will look beautiful.

I'm bringing my hair dresser, I've heard people have had good luck with some stylist from off the resort!

Have you finished picking all your favours? I'm just finishing up all of ours right now, I think I was a bit too ambitious!

:)

I was never told that you needed to bring your own centerpieces.  I thought that was something that was included in the packages since they show that in all of their pictures.  Does anyone know if they supply anything to have on the table then??

I also found out that the pictures that are included in the packages are done by True Colors but you only get 8.  If you want more you can pay and I decided to go with Sandy May since she was the same price as True Colors and I wanted a professional since that will be a great memory!

I know everyone says that the band is loud by the Blue Lagoon, can you have them come down to the wedding and play an hour or so???

We are just going with the wedding package photos and having my sister take the rest.  fingers crossed.

Congrats! What time of day are you getting married? What package are you going with? I think it's smart if someone in your family is willling to do the pictures! Not long ago, I was browsing a Palladium site that outlined the extra costs for additional photos, videography, etc. and now I can't seem to find it. Have you seen a site like this? I am trying to compare additional professional photos at the resort with an outside vendor.

you dont need to bring your own centerpieces but they are not included in any packages, you can buy/rent centerpieces through tai floral but all the ones that I had wanted were too expensive so I opted to just use the flowers in my package and my wedding party bouquets and put them in vases on the tables.  You can ask tai floral for some quotes they were great to work with just too much for me.

:)

Where did you get your starfish tea lights from? They sound perfect!

Do any of you know if we can leave things at the resort for other brides? Would they store things for us? If yes, Court-I'd be willing to buy these from you?

Id also be interested in flowers if anyone wants to sell theirs and leave them?

We are going down with 2 kids under the age of two so have sooo much stuff to bring! I really don't want to have to bring anything else.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
