I noticed that you are getting married on January 30th 2013. We are getting married on January 18th 2013! How is the planning going so far? What time are you getting married at? We are at 10 am, and I'm trying to figure out what to tell people to do between the ceremony and the reception. I think that I will tell them to all just enjoy the sun and the beach.

Are you having a private reception? Are you getting some entertainment? We have been thinking of booking the Zurielamaka show for after our supper.

Hope your planning is going well!

We are getting married at 4pm on the beach and then a private reception at the blue lagoon to follow!

Im sure you guest will love not to have a stressfull day! they can get up for the ceremony, maybe you can do a brunch for them after the ceremony? or a catamaran for the afternoon? I'm sure you WC can give you some suggestions! People will love just to chill on thr beach inbetween :)

Where is your ceremony and reception being held?

We are also debating the Zurielamaka show right now too. We aren't using a DJ just the ipod dock.

I would love to hear what everyone is doing for photography. I am having such a hard time with this, because the pictures are what stick around forever! I think its worth the money to spend on quality, but I also have to be able to afford it. I personally am not too impressed with True Colors, the resorts contracted photographers. But, I really don't want to pay a vendor fee either, although I saw where a couple of em took that off their price packages to get your business if vendor fees were applied. Has anyone used True Colors yet, I just feel like other photographers pictures looked more professional and higher quality. Anyone know of reasonable photographers or packages?? Please help! :)

We are bringing our own photoprapher from home. So paying the cost of their trip and a bit extra they get to stay the week, and since they are considered a guest you don't need to pay the vender fee! its a good way around it. A lot of photographers will fly to destination weddings, they get a holiday out of it and work one day lol :)

We are getting married at 10am (that was the only time left when we booked in April!) on the beach and are having a private reception at Posieden at 7pm. We are thinking of just bring our own ipod dock down for some music and possibly speeches. I'm not too worried about speeches and that since we are having a reception back home in July and can do thank you's there.

Planning is going well so far. Not too much to do. We are doing fake flower's for the wedding party. And just waiting for the dresses to come in!

Are you getting your hair and makeup done at the spa? Or doing you're own. I am getting one of my fiancee's cousins to do my hair so that I can trial it at home first. I'd hate to get my hair done and hate it. I just want something simple anyways.

We were in the same boat as you a while back. But we decided to fly a photographer out from home. It costs a little bit more (like a couple of hundred dollars) but we personally know this guy and his work. And the bonus is that he will take our pictures all week long. Not just the one day. So I'm pretty happy with that. I figure it's good bang for your buck!

WoW---  I guess I could do that to, I never thought of that! But I can't imagine how much $$ with trip costs and actual fee. HuMM, I may start looking around my area. : Thanks for the suggestions because the Jamaican photographers are charging like $2500-$3000 and most em without prints!!  Thats not near what people pay from my town, so I guess I was shocked when I started looking at prices. Thanks for your input.

Hi Ladies,

I am getting married May 1st, 2013 at 2pm in the Atrium with our reception in the Blue Lagoon! It's nice to have people getting married at the same place that you can compare ideas with! As of right now, we have 63 people booked and we are thinking we are probably going to end up with 80-100 people attending!

Have any of you thought about your centerpieces? I spoke with my wedding coordinator, Omeshia, who told me that the centerpieces they have to offer are $45 each and they aren't very nice. I am thinking of making my own and bringing it down with me using my bridesmaid bouquets in a vase and some candles and such around! Have any of you seen the real touch flowers from Bloom Bridal in Toronto, Canada? I am thinking of getting mine from there because I have 8 bridesmaids so spending $90+ on their bouquets is just out of the question!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
