I am planning our wedding for May 2013.  My travel agent thinks there is a free wedding deal if 5 rooms are booked.  Have any one else heard this?  I am so confused because there offer several packages. Any opinions on the time of the day to have a wedding?  Thank you!

I am booked for March 8 2013.  I have not heard of this and I have been in touch with GP about group sales.  If you find out its true, please let us all know.  I think they offer 10, 1 or 4:00 weddings.  You can choose the beach or gazebo.  Check out some of the forums from 2011 or 2012.  There are tons of pictures from past brides.

We booked our wedding this weekend!  We are getting married May 28, 2013 at 2:00 on the beach!  The wedding is not free.  :( I was told the wrong info before.  If we book 21 people then we do get a free flight and room so that will save some money.  I was happy to hear my travel agent was able to call and speak with someone direct.  I have read many post about it being hard to talk to someone there!

Hey Ladies,

Have any of you booked a photographer yet? OR at least done any research? I just started looking and am wondering if anyone has any advice? I am hoping to keep photography at $1000.......not sure if this is possible but I didn't expect the wedding to cost so much money! I am a little annoyed that we have to pay $20pp after 8 ppl to attend our ceremony!! It does not make sense to me! We are having about 40 ppl attend our wedding and private reception.

I booked True Colours Photography. They are the resorts photographers, so you wont have to pay any guest fees to get them onto the resort.   I can forward you their pricing list if you want?  Just let me know.  My budget was the same, but $1,000 doesnt get you very much.  I ended up going with 2 hours of photography and all edited images on CD for $900.  I figured if we at least had the ceremony and after ceremony pics covered it would be okay.

Our wedding is costing a lot too.  I have 50 ppl so far confirmed, so technically thats $20 pp for the ceremony and at least $45pp for the private dinner reception.  Plus the cost of the actual ceremony package, plus entertainment at the ceremony and reception, plus additional flowers for bm and gm, etc.  Add your trip and dress in there and tt all adds up!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
