@@JennyZ that is amazing!!! I am

The worst procrastinator ever!! I just emailed her yesterday because I figure I should start some actual planning!! Lol!! Your line up pretty much sounds like what we want.. How many people are you having? Can your forward me the things you have? Especially the add ons! We are trying to

Figure out the best way to go

With the packages as well! We also are thinking music on an iPod but are up in the air with it! I'm also curious if your using their salon to get ready? I read in a post some girls go to 5th ave to get their hair done.. Thought that might be fun.. But not to sure! And did you choose a photographer?

@@Jlk1004 - in the wedding packages, you get a hair trial & the day of wedding hairstyle, so I'm going with pictures of what I want and am going to see if they are able to recreate. I'm a professional MAC makeup artist, so it goes without saying, I'll just be doing my own make-up ;) If they can't do my hair, I'm pretty sure I'll just do my own as well. Working in the bridal industry for over 10 years, I can tell you, the last thing you want to be doing on your wedding day is running around town to appointments! These forums are great though, just do some searches and see if brides are referring the same girl(s) so you can have some peace of mind :)

I'm bringing my own photographer here from Canada. By the time I paid for an upgraded package to include their photographer (who is only there for the ceremony, toast and cocktail hour) I can fly my guy out and have pics for the entire week! That means, pictures of the ladies/men getting ready, the "reveal" pic where bride and groom see each other for first time, ceremony, whole rest of the day/night/party, family shoots on the beach, pics at the restaurants, etc! I dont want to have to only be able to chose 60 pictures from a 2 hour span by using theirs.

Get ready for some emails girl!!! :D

@@Jlk1004 - Check your email Hun! Sent you 4 separate emails, with different attachments for their Wedding locations, cakes, flowers, restaurants. The gold package and flowers. The photographer. The dream package and flowers.

They did have 1 package, which was the least expensive (I believe it was called the "Mayan package" for approx $1400?) but I dont have that information anymore, as I didnt find I was getting much from it/was worth it to go with the Gold package.

Hope this helps!!! B)

P.S. We're planning on approx. 20-30 people, but no one has RSVP'd yet, so have noooooo idea! EKKK! lol!

Hi ladies!

I am a newbie also considering the Iberostars for December 2015 as well! - both the Quetzal and the Paraiso complex. Any help/information would much appreciated! Also, curious as to what made you choose this resort, as I'm trying to narrow down my choices!

Thanks!

@@JennyZ we have just booked our wedding for the Iberostar Quetzal for January 2016. I see you're from Kitchener - I grew up in Waterloo :) We live in Ottawa but about half of our wedding party will be travelling from your area and TO. I was wondering if you could possibly send me the info that you have kindly sent to others? My email is laurahanby@@Rogers.com

Any others out there who have had their wedding at Iberostar Quetzal? I'd love to hear what add-ons are worthwhile, which restaurant you chose, etc.

@@toriw83 - Both are fabulous locations and resorts - You really cant go wrong at either! They actually look very similar (decor, restaurants, food, walkways, etc.) I chose the Quetzal/Tucan for my wedding, due to it's smaller size. The Paraiso, has 5 Iberostar resorts side-by-side (the Paraiso Grand / Paraiso Beach / Paraiso Lindo / Paraiso Del Mar / Paraiso Maya) and is a huge complex. They have their own shopping center with an AMAZING taco shop and a burger place that you have to check out, if you go! (all included in your stay), where the Quetzal only has the Tucan as it's mirror image (2 resorts side-by-side). I found there was a lot of walking at the Paraiso, but it was so nice to be able to go over to the next resort(s) (literally just a pathway separating them) to check out different theatre shows and activites everyday!

Hope this helps a bit! :)

@@JennyZ thank you so much for sending that info! I had some of the documents but not all, so definitely helpful. I love how organized you are - I am a planner too and usually much more on the ball than I am right now but our second son is due any day now. I'm just glad we got the wedding and vacation packages booked before I popped!

The only other thing that I'm hoping to get soon is more details on the restaurants for a private dinner (menu, what the seating plan would look like, photos of standard decor). Would you happen to have that? The word document Connie provided "my wedding at Iberostar" did not have the level of detail I need!

@@Laurahanby - No problem! Glad I could help!!! Congrats on the soon-to-be new addition too btw!!!

Go back to the files I sent you and check out the "MY wedding details at IB T&Q" pdf.

- Starting on page 6: Each restaurant actually has the menu listed :)

As for restaurant set up, that info you will have to get from the wedding coordinator.  I haven't planned that far yet. Standard decor is just white tablecloths, with your plates, cutlery, glasses, etc.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
