Sorry, still figuring out this forum posting thing :)

Thanks for the info. He's who we're planning on using. However, still no luck locating a Jamaican Mehndi Artist in case you happen to know of one? Thanks again

Sorry I was late with the reply Danielle. Gogie is Christian Indian, so even though they have some things that are different than a regular wedding, we decided to just do a regular wedding. We decided to go with Merrick Cousley for the photography. He's been really responsive and had great reviews by lots of people on this site. We loved this pictures as well. How did/are people doing tux/suit rentals? Most places want the rental back in the states the next day. That won't work since we are in JA. I'm finding this is very difficult. Good Luck with the Indian wedding Danielle. I'm sure it will be fantastic!!!!!!

Hi Lene,

Yes, Couseley is on our short list as well for photographers as well along with Alain Hottat. Not sure about Tux issue as we will be bringing our own Indian attire and then thinking of doing a more casual linen suit for the reception. Good luck though!

Hi Danielle,

We actually found a place that does custom linen suits in India through this website. We looked at the pictures and the fantastic reviews everyone was giving them. I received the swatches and decided to go with them. They have been great to work with and for a fantastic price. It works out cheaper than the guys renting suits. Thanks for responding though :-)

Hi Ladies,

For those of you who have already been to GPLH and been married, what is the best buffet (or does it make a difference?) And which one is most accessible/central? Does it have a name?  My fiance and I are planning a parent's brunch and I want to let them know where to meet but I can't seem to find the name of any of the buffets, or where they are located.

Did any bride write an itinerary/welcome letter to her guests letting them know the activities of the week upon arrival? I'm in the middle of doing it now and wondering if there are examples or templates that I could see.

29 days!!!!!

Hi Lindsay,

I just had my wedding here on 12/8/12 and the Negril Buffet was really the only one that was open as far as buffets go.  The food was so good and they were accomodating to large groups although we had to split between tables but we were right next to each other.  Negril Buffet is central to everything.

IMPORTANT READ: For anyone having doubts about having your wedding at GPLH, STOP DOUBTING AND JUST DO IT!! :-)  I just had my wedding here on 12/8/12 and it was wonderful.  Everytime I think about it, I start smiling.  We had over 50 guests and had SO MUCH FUN.  Our guests ranged from 3 years old to 85 years old and everyone had a great time.  So many guests have told me that this was the best vacation, let alone wedding, they had ever been to.  We would definitely return to this resort.  Excellent choice for a wedding, especially for a larger wedding party like ours.  See my review here.

Thank you so much for your review. I'm guyanese, my fiance' Indian, so you can imagine the guests. I'm happy to hear about the experience. Many of us have been to Jamaica but not this particular resort. I feel so much better about it now.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello ladies! I am new to this site and I have been reading through a lot of the forums. So far they have all been very helpful. I'm getting married this July at Grand Palladium Jamaica and I am working on my invitations now. I would like my guests to send all gifts and money to our home so that we do not have to worry about having a lot of cash/gifts in Jamaica. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to handle guests bringing money. What did you do for your wedding?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
