Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton/Grand Palladium Jamaica Brides 2012

I was told we could do a vow renewal package! Way cheaper and you can customize and bring your own decorations!!!
Thanks CourtBestBride! Are you getting married legally at home first or will your legal marriage still happen in Jamaica?

Just starting my planning process for June 2013!!

The only option is to have a non-private dinner with other guests in one of the restaurants. Otherwise, no.. there is no way around the extra charge per person.

You are essentally paying the charge to rent the location and cover the private bar servce and food service... that you would otherwise not be entitled to receive at an all inclusive.

Our private staff were fantastic and so much fun... they put on a show and made sure we were happy and satisfied with every course.

For me, i thought it was well worth the extra money to have a private reception.

Also... reardless of the ceremony package you choose... you can bring your own decorations to both the ceremony and reception.

We brought our own centerpieces, name place cards and some other decorations for both the ceremony and reception.

we also brought our own ipod dock. Theres a $500 to rent the ipod dock from the resort.

they charged us $500 for a microphone and ipod dock for ceremony use only (not reception).... since we had the steel drum band we didnt need the ipod so we had that charge removed and we still had a microphone so im not sure if thats normally included or not... but dont waste $500 if u dont have to on this.... bring your own docking system.

We are getting married at home first but only because we are bringing our own minister to preform the ceremony in Jamaica. I don't think the marriage laws are bad in Jamaica, they make it pretty easy and stress free :)

Hi EMM2013, congrats on the engagement! I also think it's ridiculous to pay an extra $20 for a chair for each guest to sit at your ceremony and then an extra $45 for a reception. We are going to do a private cocktail hour instead to cut the cost down. It's only $15 per person and it includes 10 appetizers per person plus a private bar. If you go over, the private bar is an extra $6/hour. I've just had a friend do this (at a different resort) and she said it was perfect! and that they didn't need anything else. I'm just reluctant to pay the extra money for food given that we're at an all-inclusive, and with what Alysia85 had happen with the band playing and drowning out their first dance. I'm getting married in February 2013 so I can tel you how it goes once we do it!

I think the private cocktail hour is a wonderful idea!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
