Hi, I am looking at the Poseidon for our private dinner reception next April. How did you like it?? I was set on the Blue Lagoon for some reason ( I think because it seems like everyone talks about it on here) but your pictures look very pretty. What was it like? I will probably have between 30-40 people attending

Thanks :)

Hello Ladies,

I am in the veeeeeeeeeeeery beginning stages of planning my August 2013 wedding and we have chosen to go with the GPLH!!! I think i will be going with the waves of love package and a possible reception on the beach as well.  Has anyone done a reception on the beach? How did it turn out?

xoxo

Hey MindyLuv, congrats on your engagement! Your idea of your day sounds very similar to what we are having in Feb 2013. I can keep you posted as we decide. . .and once it happens I can send pics. We are going with Waves of Love package, and were told that we can have our reception on the beach because we are the last wedding of the day. This means that your wedding will have to be at 4pm (my photographer told me thats the best time for pics anyways so thats double great!) We are still debating on if we're doing a beach reception because I am wearing a tea length dress and love high heels. . so I dont know if I want to be barefoot for the majority of the day. Much success to you!!!!!

Hello Ladies... I am a bride to be with a wedding date of May 03 2013, 4pm ceremony... Had a question in regards to the weddings at Grand Palladium... First off anyone get married in May...? Was it rainy? Second, what wedding package works best.. I really wanted Coral in my wedding but dont need all the additional features to the wedding package.. What would you reccommend. Anyone have their reception at the blue lagoon? was it too hot to have outside with all the dancing..? any additional advise is GREATLY appreciated.. kinda running blind on this.

I got married May 10th of this year ... i posted a review of the resort in the review section... We went from May 5-12 .. the weather was perfect!!! it rained on friday but it was nice.. especially since our wedding was thursday. I shou,d mention that the week before we got there.. it was terible rain storms and horrible waether. so.. you really jsut dont know. BUT... the rain location which is the spa.. is absolutely stunning!!! i honestly would not have been disappointed if it did end up raining. it was so beautiful and open air.. marble floors and pillars. Our reception was at the blue lagoon... read me review for this. abolutely awesome!!!! blue lagoon is open air. i would receommend blue lagoon or poseidon. poseidon is nice and private.. beautiful view overlooking the beach and ocean. blue lagoon overlooks the main pool area and ocean and is much bigger than pseidon. a huge thing to factor with blue lagoon fore the timing of ur reception is that a live band will play.. every night... directly above you in the lounge. it is VERYYYYY loud and you wont be able to hear anything over it. we had to yell our speeches and cut them short because of the band... and you could NOT hear the muic for our first dance at all.  i think the band starts playing at 9pm.

We went with the waves of love package. It was perfect.. i think i would have been disappointed to spend more money on the other packages... however you only have the color choices that com with those packages. The waves of love blue package was stunning. the flower arrangements were huge and absolutely beautiful. Our colors were blue, coral and brown. My sister wore a bright coral colored dress... and ... oh this was perfect... we picked flowers from around the resort that matched her dress PERFECTLY. it was awesome.. everything will work out. I spent $200 on fake flower bouquets that I had made and we didnt even use them. what a waste of money.

Seriously.. dont stress out about anything. Jamaica runs on jamaican time. everything WILL get planned. We didnt finalize ANYTHING with the resort until 1 day before the wedding. Crazy considering what we are used to... but thats how it is there.

there's honestly not much you have to do other than show up. You can plan as much as you want.. but when u get there you'll realize its not worth it.

the best advice i have is dont try and have a formal "american/italian/whatever" style wedding in jamaica... i saw a few brides do this... and it looked uncomfortable and forced and unnatural. Bridesmaid dresses that were huuuge pouffy and stuffy things and looked like heavy prom dresses... just too much and it didnt look right.

i mean do what you want... its your wedding right. i wore formal heels (dress sandals) and a formal wedding dress... but we kept it light and fun and it was perfect.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
