Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton/Grand Palladium Jamaica Brides 2012

We used Kevan Stewart.  There were some reviews of him on this site.  He's charging us $680 ($170/hr), with the $300 vendor fee we're paying $980 total.

Hi Ladies!

I've been checking out this site for a while now but this is my first post! I figured since many of you will have already gone through the booking process that this may be the best place to pose my question.

My fiance and I are looking for a place in Montego Bay to get married the week of March 23-30, 2013 and we are having a really tough time trying to find a resort for under $1700 which isn't awful. I fell in love with the GPJ and GPLH, and the rates for booking this resort online were very reasonable ($1,700 and under for a week consistently from now until next year). Unfortunately our group rates that we have been quoted are AWFUL. Toronto to Montego Bay for a week has ranged from $2,299 to $2,422 for the week we are looking at. I'm really at a point where I'm not sure what to do next with this, as we don't have flexibility for changing the dates. What I'd like to know is:

- did anyone have better luck with pricing having their guests book online?

- did anyone find the group rates dropped closer to their wedding (ie - 6 months or less before)?

- If I'm totally out of my price point with thinking this hotel could ever be under $1,700 are there any other nice hotels which could be suggested within this price point?

Thanks so much!!

In response...I found the pricing at this link: http://palladiumweddings.com/en/package.php?destination=5&package=6&tipo_paquete=wedding&tab=resort#extrasPanel

The $185 "glamorous" package covers makeup, hairstyle, and classic mani/pedi.  It doesn't include a trial hairstyle from what I can tell.  Since I can paint my own toes, get a manicure for $25 or less at a local salon, and I'm doing minimal (if any) make-up....well, I'm just wondering if it's worth the expense to do my hair how I want it.  I haven't figured out exactly what I want, or if my bridesmaids, stepmom, or mother-in-law could do it for me.

I did find the link for spa prices HERE, if anyone else needs it.  I didn't realize that the Renova Spa had their own website.

C&C: I think the website Palladium Addicts will have spa pricing and a resort map that you can download. Or just google for the map and it will appear in the IMAGES results. That's how I found it !  What is the $185 package you mentioned? is it the cost of wedding hair and makeup together? or just nails?

hi vlivins,

What travel company did u receive these quotes from????

We're flying out of toronto and our price was no one near that!

Prices for next year arent even out yet... they wont be out until sometime in June/July.

From what i've looked at... the only other resort that seems comparable to the GPLH is the Iberostar

The $185 "Glamorous" package is listed on the PalladiumWeddings.com website, and it includes, hairstyle (not a trial, though), makeup, and classic mani/pedi.  I just discovered the amazing Palladium Addicts!  Wow, what an awesome resource!  Spa prices seems a little crazy compared to the US, so I'm definitely going the DIY route.  Thanks for the tip!

Hello ladies,

I am so excited that I found this blog. I am getting married at GPLH in Feb 2013, so technically not a 2012 bride, however; I am stressing out like I am. We are planning this wedding from Ghana, West Africa, (where we met and currently live) my fiance is American and I am Canadian so adding a fourth country where the wedding will take place is quite stressful. So glad we can bounce ideas and suggestions off each other.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
