Hey JLC,

That was a huge concern for us... not wanting anyone to miss out on our wedding by having to take pictures... or having to sacrifice their whole day.... but after figuring things out we've decided to jsut go with that and not hire an outside photographer. We've come up with a list of pictures we would like to get throughout the day so it wont be stressful for them to worry if they missed a certain shot or something. that was a great compromise because now we can be confident that we'll get certain pictures taken and they can be comfortable shooting throughout the day knowing what we're expecting (not that we have big expactations!).

We chose the palladium because first of all its beautiful!!!!! and second... the gazebo! It's a private garden gazebo overlooking the ocean... PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're going with the Waves of Love package since our colors are blue/brown and it just fits so perfect. Although I think I am going to get a silk flower bouquet made in mango colors cala lilies ... and give the included bouquet to my maid of honor.

I myself do professional pictures so I am quite picky!!!! lol. I also know someone who had her friend take her wedding pictures and they got ruined and thats just not a good situation. But if you have 3 people coming im sure at least one of them will get every part of your special day! Ours is only so expensive because we are doing pictures day of then we are having a photoshoot the day after in the ocean on horseback so that made our package kind of pricey then my soon to be mother in law offered to pay for the video so that everyone who cant come can see it. I know that with true colors photography there was packages as low in price as like 1200 if you are really worried. They have a website and a blog where judine posts their weddings they are doing and i love following it. Makes me excited to get married there!!!!

What made you choose the grand palladium? and how many guests do you have coming? We are not arriving till the 15th so we will miss each other!!!!! all of our guests are arriving the 12th. I am very excited as it gets closer. you said you chose the garden gazebo? It looks gorgeous. I wouldnt worry about the whole photo thing to much not good to stress and as they say in jamaica "its no problem mon" lol if you are worried email them and ask about the smaller photo packages!!!

What wedding packages did everyone choose? I did the island Pearl. Beach location.

hi everyone!

My name is Michelle and I'm from Toronto. My fiance and I are looking at getting married at Grand Palladium Jamaica - but MAY 2013 , not 12 :)

I'm in the midst of pricing it out , but it looks like $1700 per person (all in for a week, with flight & taxes included) based on a double occupancy Jr Suite room.   But I see Alysia85 got a better rate.

Alysia85:  How many people is that group quote based on? is it including all the things my quote included? does it include round trip transfers to the airport as well?  Any details you may have, could really help me get a better rate for my guests. Which is my main focus right now!

Can't wait to get chatting with some of you brides out there - I have a lot of questions and could use the advice!!

My FI and I are getting married on June 21st, 2012 at 4 pm at Grand Palladium Jamaica/Lady Hamilton on the beach.  We have about 20-25ish people coming, and we just got the very basic package...Sapphire I think.  We're going to eat at the buffet afterwards, and probably dance at the night club after dinner.  We have big families and enough people in our "crew" that we tend to take over when we go clubbing, so I'm not so much worried about "private" wedding events.

I LOVE the idea of having a program or schedule of events.  I know when I travel, I'm super obsessive-compulsive about every detail, so I'm guessing at least some of my guests are too.  for some of my family, it's also the first time they are traveling internationally.  Knowing where I'm supposed to be and when (preferably in advance) is a comfort.  I'm planning to do a "bon voyage" bag that I'm giving to people before they/we leave.  That way, I won't get charged the $2/room fee (insane!) and I'll know they will actually get to the right people.  Including a program of some sort, resort map if I can get one electronically, the QR code to download the Palladium app, and contact info for myself or a designated bridal party member for questions and last-minute changes.

I'm wondering if anyone is having trouble getting in contact with Omeshia the WC.  I e-mailed a week or so ago, and haven't heard back.  Granted, I'm used to a couple days (as stressful as that is to me), but this is a bit worrisome.  I had asked if we could contact the pastor to e-mail him/her what we'd like for the ceremony.  We're both Christians, so we'd like to have that be a specific focus, and we'd like the ceremony to be meaningful.  We also have some readings we'd like our friends/family to do, and we want to talk to the pastor about how that will fit.  So far no response.

On another note, has anyone found a price list for the spa?  I'm trying to decide if I should get a massage at GP or wait until we go to our honeymoon resort (Couples San Souci).  I'd also like a general idea of what it would cost to have my hair done there, or if I should just ask my bridesmaids and stepmom to help me do it myself.  I've never been one to wear makeup EVER, so the little I'm wearing, I'm going to do myself.  I don't want the $185 package to get the whole she-bang.  Honestly, I'll get my nails done in the states for a lot less I think.

I am getting married June 22, 2012 @ 4 pm at the GP!!  I have been contacted Angelly Arias in sales (not in the wedding dept, but she gets all my questions answered within 2 days max!).  Since it is closer to the wedding date, she told me I could ask more specifics about the wedding to a Ms. Carian.  I am hoping Ms. Carian is as helpful as Angelly.

I am making my final decision on my dress tomorrow, bridesmaids dresses picked, colors (Persimmon & Champagne, my future name will be Mrs. Simon!! Thought that was funny, wedding colors are per Simon!!), 14 booked so far, expecting 15 more.  Struggling with hair options, I am African American and my hair is natural and we are going to take a plunge in the pool at the end of the night so I am thinking I may wear micro braids.

So far for our OOT bags I am planning:

12 oz. cups (personalized for our wedding)

Luggage Tags

Hand sanitizers (made by one of my bridesmaids)

candles (made by one of my bridesmaids)

Linen Spray (made by one of my bridesmaids)

Welcome Pamphlet

Bottled Water

First Aid Kits, Tylenol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
