My wedding is April 30th ... few days before you... I hired Mike Cantarell for the video... they said hes authorized.. you have to make sure whoever you choose is authorized by the resort and make sure they dont over charge you... on the wedding agreement it says its $150 for an outside vendor

Just booked my wedding for November 13, 2013 and I am so excited, bought my dress this weekend, booking our hotel & flight this week. I received the entire "welcome" package from Claudia and I gotta admit it is a little overwhelming! So many options!

4 months and 4 weeks to go, they sure will go fast! Anyone else going to be there that week? I imagine there has to be 11.12.13 brides :D

I want to be able to enjoy being with my family when we get to Dreams Riviera Cancun. If I plan an early trip for my fiance and I to visit and take care of wedding planning, will i be able to finish all the agreements prior to the actual wedding week? Any comments would be great. Thanks"

Hi Mindy,

I am getting married there November 4th, 2013. Super excited as well.

Question for you .. what was your wedding "welcome" package? I haven't received anything other than the contact information for Gabriella and I have emailed her numerous times and have not heard back. I did book it all through a travel agent and she told me don't stress about it, you will figure it out when you get there, but I am getting a little worried.

How long will you be down there?

Hi Brides,

I am 5 weeks out from my wedding at DRC and let me tell you they are HORRIBLE about communication. I have had several emails, asking simple things like "How many cocktail tables will there be" or  "I am bringing centerpieces, can you confirm they will be set up like this", only to have 1-2 WEEKS go by without so much as acknowledgement of receiving the email, let alone an answer. I only seem to get responses when I have sent 2-3 copies of the same email to both my coordinator (Claudia, after having Ayahamint and being transferred to a more "responsive" coordinator) and the department manager (Gabriela).

Oh and FYI - the details of my wedding are still not planned (from May 2013) and the 12pm phone conference they suggested to "iron out the details" hasn't happened yet. When I inquired I was told they were very busy with 2 events today and would have to move it to 6pm.... Nice of them to let me know.

Moral: DRC is AWFUL at communication, but is a beautiful resort and WILL take care of you once you are there (So they assure me)

good venting, LaurenV.....big breath! .......it's good to hear you're assured they will take good care of you once you're there.....seems to be a common experience from what our wedding couples (and other brides on this forum) are saying too.

Wishing you all the best with the final time before your Big Celebration, and that everything turns out Awesome - Cheers!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
