Thank you! I actually booked my date with DRC this week and send in my deposit yesterday. April 27th 2013!!!!! How are you doing with you planning? I see that you want a May wedding, I know there is another bride that booked her date already thats getting married at DRC on May 3rd 2013 so it looks like her and I will be overlapping with our vacation stay.  There is another forum on this website that has been very helpful to me and my decision making you should check it out (thats where all the previous brides, current brides and future brides are) Everyone has been super helpful in answering questions and even emailing pdf files to each other since the wedding cordinators take forever. Hi All! So i have been shopping around for about a month now, I have had an extremely difficult time with my wedding planner from desitnationweddings.com.  My FI and I are now leaning towards just booking our own wedding at DRC.  We are expecting a minimum of 100 guests.  Were any of you able to negotiate better deals from the resort in terms of pricing for reception, or maybe get a free cocktail hour thrown in?!

you can email your wedding planner and ask... she offered us using a restaurant for additional charge so then I emailed back and asked if we still need to pay for every additional guest and she advised she can include that with the fee for our reception venue... but they do try to charge you for everything as much as possible...

  • 1 month later...

hello drc brides!

i am booked for june 2013 and am very excited. comunicating with the wedding planner is a little slower than i would like but all in all isn't that bad. you have to ask them specific questions and wait a few days for your answers. i am working with my dad who is our travel agent wich helps because if i can't get an answer, he will. so i would strongly suggest working with a travel agent if possible. i have not started planning anything as i have heard that you do much of the planning closer to your date. that is very scary for me so i will just have to have faith that it will all work itself out. congrats everyone and good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
