Hello ladies and Congratulations on your upcoming wedding day , I have enjoyed being on this site you all are so creative .  I joined early summer and I would get on here and there .  Now , the  first of the year it's time for me to buckle down and get the party started .  My wedding date is Sept. 19, 2012  Carnival Conquest sailing but the wedding  and reception is on the beach in Montego Bay.  With the oot bags how do you go about giving those out to your guest or does you Carnival Wedding planner take care of that for you ?  I don't want to be delayed and carrying all of that stuff around  my gown, luggage and wedding oot bag stuff .  And another question I had was I was thinking about sending out my boarding pass save the dates in April I know , I know , lol that might be a little late but I wanted to see who all would pay their first full deposit.  Our guest only put down $25 to hold the cabin. So do you all think that timeframe is good.  I have 35 guest who have booked and 4 have already met their 1st deposit which is  not due until  April  2012 . I will send out save the dates along with all of the information of the details of the wedding .  Wish me luck ladies.

Please any ideas you can pass along to me please do so I am open for anything unique .  I am working on my boarding pass now and I can't seem to find me a background with a heart in the sand on the beach or either something with the colors tiffany blue and coral designs.  Help !!!

Thanks Ladies.

Hey! Congrats to you as well. I am also a Carnival cruise bride getting married in December 2012. We decided not to do OOT bags, but favors instead. Originally we were going to order some bags from Vista Print, because they e-mail me some great coupons and you can design them yourself on their website. Be sure to check it out and sign up for their e-mails. We have ordered quite a bit of stuff from them already.

I think April is a little late to send your STD's. I know I would need more then a 5 months notice for a cruise wedding, especially if I have to fly somewhere. We mailed out our STD's over a year in advance and we didn't create a group booking because we wanted everyone to be able to book how they want. We currently have 10 rooms booked with a total of 20 people and more will book once tax season comes. We are hoping for a maximum of 40 people ( we want to keep it pretty intimate).

Do you have your dress and everything already? How far you along with planning? Congrats again! =]

Hi Ladies,

We are getting married on the Miracle in the Port of NY on July 1st. It's close to home so we will be able to have everyone that we want attend the wedding.

Regarding the STD's, send them out ASAP. I wouldn't wait on them because if you have someone on the fence about booking they need to book at least 6 months out in order to get the early saver rate. Also, if you have people flying in, it will allow them to book their flights early. We sent our's out as soon as we booked the wedding in October.

About the OOT's. I've been looking too and it really all depends on the look that you want to go for. I like the Vistaprint bags because you can personalize them. I'm also going to do a magnet for each cabin door to identify "my group". I designed a great door magnet on vistaprint. I'm planning on doing custom waterbottles from discountmugs.com, beach towels that I found on clearance on kmart.com for $2.17 each, luggage tags and a custom printed lanyard along with all of the regular contents of an OOT bag.

Hi Ladies,

Our wedding is not until Feb 2013 on the Carnival Dream but we just purchased all of our tote bags on vista print. After ordering our  STD's on this site they kept sending me a ton of emails for free stuff so after getting an email for a free tote I jumped at the chance. Now you can only get one free tote per order so yes I did place 20 separate orders haha but totally worth it. Each order cost us $4.41 in shipping but in each order we got 1 free customized tote, a free customized pen, a free customized notepad, and a free t shirt!! I couldn't believe it definitely a great deal that I couldn't pass up even with our wedding still a year away. Hope this helps so make sure you sign up for their email offers!!

I got my OOT bags through an overstock sale on 4imprint - they were able to sell me a less amount of bags then the minimum they wanted because I did not get them printed! I am planning to put a lovely tag and ribbon on it so people will be more inclined to use it again after the wedding.

I contacted Carnival about these bags and they said they can deliver the bags after the ship has set sail which is fine with me, I am getting married on embarkation day on the Carnival Dream so the wedding and reception will happen before the ship even sets sail, then once we are on our way they will be delivering the oot bags to my guests cabins. But you can get them delivered on a certain day of the cruise. This is what they sent me:

Preparing Items for Cabin Delivery

.         All gifts should be prepped, packaged, and labeled to be completely ready for delivery prior to arrival to the ship.  The ship staff will not assist in prepping items for delivery.

.         If the gifts/items ARE cabin or guest specific, they must be labeled with the guests' names and cabin numbers.

Cabin Delivery Arrangements

.          Deliveries will be made on embarkation day or at turndown on a requested date

.         Delivery Fee: A $1.00 per cabin, per delivery fee will apply for delivery of group provided gifts. This nominal charge is actually a gratuity for the Housekeeping Staff as they will be providing this special service atop of their standard duties.

If there is anything else we can do for you please don't hesitate to ask.

Hope this helps! Good luck with your planning - and DON'T hesitate to buy your oot bags/oot purchases NOW even if you are a year away.. I am so glad I bought my OOT bag stuff last year, I got pashminas, manicure sets, sunblock, aloe, the whole nine yards and my fiancee kept saying its so early, its too early.. and NOW that I am 51 days from the wedding day and 49 days before we leave, I have no TIME or MONEY to be buying ANYTHING oot.. so I'm sooooo glad I got it in the early days!

No problem guys

And yes, I definetely recommend getting OOT stuff early. Unless you've paid for your wedding, cruise, airfare, various hotels before and after the trip, insurance, and all your transfers already? lol.

I got my advil packs and little sunscreens last summer, just kept an eye on the expiry dates. I got immodium packets and pepto chewables too, again, just watching the expiry dates.

I am also flying with Air Transat and they let you check two suitcases.. so what I think I am going to do is fill a cheap duffle bag or box with our OOT items and just leave it there once I get all the OOT stuff dispersed.. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
