Where to plan my all-inclusive wedding? HELP!

Hi everyone, I am new here! well sort of, I have been snooping around wonderful forums for ideas for the last few months, when time permits with school. But I am done classes for winter break, and it wedding planning crunch time!  I am so confused as to where to plan. We originally wanted Costa Rica or Jamaica, but is too expensive, then thought about Panama and then Cuba, but I have heard horror stories of trying to get your own photographer into Cuba and getting really nice pictures is very important to us. So we looked back at Panama again and my fiance does not like the look of the beaches there. They are very rocky and not very clear. If anyone has any suggestions and could help us out, I would really appreciate it. Ideally something like antigua or bahamas would be nice, but is too pricey. We were hoping to find something under $2000 w/ taxes. Also Dominican and Mexico are not an option for us because we have recently been there for our friends weddings and we typically have the same guests and they would like to go somewhere different.(as would we)

I know I sound picky, but i am hoping someone has some suggestions for me

THANKS!!!msnwink.gif

Hello!

Congratulations and happy planning!!  Check out these places:  Aruba, St. Lucia, Grenada, US Virgin Island, British Virgin Island, or Cayman Island. I think Jamaican can fit in your budget, it all depends on what hotel you're getting married at. Also, is your wedding during high season or low season? This can also cause a major difference in prices and rates for hotels.

Congratulations and Welcome! My suggestion would be to contact a travel agent and discuss your specifics with him/her.  If you dont have one, the founder of this forum owns a travel agent and has a good reputation/reviews.  Your TA can help you narrow down the choices and select the location that's right for you.  Hope this helps!

What worked for us was to write down what we wanted in a resort and vacation.  For example, size of resort, cost of resort, wedding packages available, amenities provided ect.  From there we used a travel agent to help us narrow down our location and then finally resort.  Good luck with your search for the perfect place!

Agreed with the comments above. It's wise to consult with a professional if you are very picky, but you also need to know that nothing is "perfect" (i would always change a few things here and there with every resort - better beach, too big, too small, etc.) and that no matter where you end up, you'll have an incredible experience.Try not to overthink is the advice I have. And with Cuba, why not bring your photographer as your "guest??" This shouldn't be an issue. I'd be happy to discuss further with you... :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
