We have booked at the GPR for the 12th of november 2012. We are dealing with Maritza who has been really good at answering my million questions quickly! We are getting married in the Gazebo and having a private 3hr reception in the ballroom. I was concerned as well about being on the beach too long. We are expecting about 35 guests. The flowers are pretty pricey and the package only come's with basic's so to upgrade those will be pretty pricey. What are you guys doing in terms of flowers? What are the main things your asking and how are you changing the packages?

Hi I'm a GPR bride as well! I totaly understand about the flowers being so pricey!

I'm trying to come up of ways to cut back on flowers all together.

1. Brooch Bouquet & Seashell boutonnieres

2. Centerpieces...I'm bringing my own. Ebay, Dollar Tree & Walmart are my friends!

3. I'm currently asking for a quote for just colored tulle. No flowers.

I wanted this for the Huppa...My WC quoted me $500 for this huppa and  aisle. This is out of my budget and out of the question.

Everything is on the beach ceremony & reception starting at 4 PM. I just pray that we don't all roast alive out there in the sun.

We are at about 32 guests and counting right now. It has been a real pain trying to get our guests to book ahead of time. We are a little over three months out and I still dont have all my immediate family booked. GRRRRR!!!!

I found another florist that another BDW bride reccomended and will be asking them for a quote.

I guess using an outside vendor for flowers wouldn't be that bad if the price was right and you were getting a decent amount. 1 of the bouquets that I like will cost me about $250 and the bridesmaid's bouquets are all about $100 so paying the vendor might be a good idea. I also wanted flower centrepieces but those are extra as well. I love the pic posted on the other thread... Kinda cool with the lime's in it!

Centerpiece are the only real flowers I will have....

I opted out not having real flowers for my bouquet or my bridesmaids. We are having 3 receptions - Mexico, my hometown & his hometown so I thought it would be a waste to have 3 sets of flowers die on us.

I made myself a brooch bouquet and my bridesmaids similar ones but with seashells.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
