i know i know i hope so. The only non stop flight is jetblue, and they can adjust the price if it drops, but in form of credit. which sucks..i would want my money back...but i guess better then nothing... so im freaking out...so aggrevating...

I'm confident over the next few weeks/months the airfare will go down. But I understand your feeling since I have a couple in my group who have been itching over airfare so I'm stalling even telling them the schedule is open...

BluJaye - I adore Ocho Rios! It's so beautiful. Did you find dresses for your bridal party?

Skygirl - I don't know how you (and Katelyn) do it. I can barely focus on work with the wedding and you have work, school, family, etc... But then maybe that's just my focusing problem.... LOL

Thanks for the warm welcome! And I know how addicting this site can be...I was stalking it before I was even engaged. I saw some brides plan their weddings from the beginning to the end. And truthfully, it helped me with ideas for my own.

I love Jamaica...but then again, I'm a bit bias as my family is from there! But this will be our first family vacation together so it should be great.

I did find dresses for my bridal party which is really small. My sister is my MOH and she ended up with a very nice dress that we found at David's Bridal. Its in the Vera Wang White line, One Shoulder Oraganza Dress with Black BeltStyle VW360012, in charcoal. My fiance's sister will be our "best girl" but unfortunately she couldn't make it to the appointment but I have an idea of what I'd like her to wear.

I have been tracking Jet Blue since Sunday and fares have gone down about $30. However, MzChoklat is correct. There's more and more talk of higher gas prices and we know what that does to airfare.... I'm looking into group booking (especially since there's only the one non-stop daily flight) to see if that will save some $$ and lock in a price. One of my BMs did have a great idea that I hadn't even thought of... Along the lines of what you were saying Skygirl, she said try to get most ppl to book through Orbitz because they have that price guarantee. And they will send you a check, not give a credit.

@teamboyd. the only direct non stop airline that goes from Boston to PUJ, is Jetblue. I called them today and they said that they dont credit the account back if the air drops for group booking any longer, Unless everyone books it separately then they can credit the account in the form of jetblue credit. But again whether we book as a group or separately, its the same rate.

What did you mean by booking via orbitz?price assurance?does it have to be a package hotel/air or it can be just air?tnx

LonaJ I have noticed the same thing about price dropping. We are traveling from Houston and the price for tickets went from $550 to $450 I am waiting to see if they go any lower. I have a lot of family flying from Los Angeles and the cheapest I have seen is about $550. I am hoping they will go lower. Please let me know if you see anything for Los Angeles.

When I first started monitoring rates they were $737 now they have dropped to $676. Prices for Los Angeles and Dallas are still the same, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed we see a significant decrease in the next couple of months.

Oh wow we might have to fly out from Houston! Most of our guest are flying from New Orleans and Los Angeles but we would actually be leaving from Dallas. The prices leaving from Dallas are lingering around 767 so I think driving the 4 hours to Houston will be well worth it, we would be saving almost $900. Which airport and airline are you looking at?

I have been looking at IAH and HOBBY they are both around the same but sometimes IAH is cheaper because it is bigger. Yeah most of my guess are flying from Los Angeles as well. If I see anything good from there I will let you know.

I am looking at IAH they seem to be the cheapest since they are a bigger airport. Hobby has a few low fares as well. I am also keeping an eye on LAX since my family is flying from there if I see anything I will let you know. :) Hope this helps.

Yes, they are the only ones from NYC to PUJ non-stop as well. And only one daily flight...!!! OMG!!! But, the group rate should discount the current rate saving off top. Then, if the rate does go up, you're already locked in from the group rate. If it goes down, I know they won't get money back but then we already know x amt of ppl are already booked on their flight and most of group will arrive together.

I'm not sure how the Orbitz thing works since I haven't ever booked with them, but it seemed like a good suggestion and something to look into. Now, that you mentioned it though, it may only be on package deals.... When I find out for sure, and what group rate may be, I'll be sure to let you know.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
