I just got engaged on December 17, so I'm just starting the process. Still trying to find a venue. Have it narrowed down to 3. Now freaking out about cost. :)

so, at this point there's not a ton I can do until we know WHERE we are going. We are planning a small, intimate (immediate family only) event, so don't really need save the dates, although will want them for the AHR in Sept.

Congratulations!!!! Honestly, so far, deciding where to go and picking the venue was the hardest part. Good Luck with your planning :)

I plan on sending invitations out in May or June.  Still working on something tangible to send out in the next month or 2.

Hello fellow August Brides!!!!

I am getting married @ the Hard Rock Punta Cana on 8/18/12.  It is going to be intimate and informal.  I spoke to my wedding coordinator today to pick ceremony music & decor, amongst many other things.  Hopefully everything falls into place.  Good luck ALL!!!

Congratulations!!!! I get married the Saturday before you at the Hard Rock. I finally have a call set up to talk to the wedding coordinator next Tues. Can't wait to finally get some things picked out. Maybe we'll see each other down there :)

I I hope everything goes well for you!!! I arrive the day after your wedding.  I had my call on 5/8.  Did your "planner" send you menus, entertainment info, pictures of the places for the ceremony, etc.?  If not forward me your e-mail and I will give you everything I received......BTW one important thing you need is the wedding event location form (so you can pick your location and/or reception site).  LMK so I can forward it to you and you can get it to your "planner".  Supposedly that fom is important because sites are determined as those forms are forwarded to DR.

Hi Ladies!

I'm leaving for my Dreams Riviera Cancun wedding in 22 days!! I can't wait!woot.gif

I was wondering if some of you could share your time lines for your wedding day. I thought we had it figured out but now I think we want to push everything back a little bit.

I was thinking:

Ceremony: 4:30

Cocktail: 5:30-6:30

Reception: 6:30-9:30

I wouldn't even mind having the reception at 7, but my fiance thinks that may be too late for some of our guests. Our wedding day is Sat August 4th and the sunset is supposed to be around 7:25-ish, so I'm hoping that by 5:00pm (when our ceremony ends), the lighting will be good for pictures.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Want to share your time line? I need a little insight.

Thanks!!

Kate

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
