Hi Sjay I am from Ontario, Canada too.  There are a lot of Canadians on these forums.  That is really cool.

            Thanks for the hello!

Where in Jamaica are you getting married?

We're 11 mos away as of today - Iberostar Rose Hall Suites, near MoBay.

May I ask which photog you hired? I've seen a few names come up frequently in the reviews, but the reviews tend to be mixed...

Thanks everyone! Made some progress this weekend with our photographer search and invitation design.

I'm on the fence about a videographer - on one hand I don't know I want to spend the extra money, but on the other, I'm sure the day will go by in a flash and it might be nice to have some video of it, especially the ceremony. Thoughts?

I'm also on the fence with the video.  I LOVE good photography and can look at pictures for hours, but video.... just not sure how often I will want to pop in the DVD.  Maybe you can ask if they can set up a mix of video with pictures so it flows a bit quicker.  That's what I was thinking of doing.

Thanks Julie. I'm planning on doing that already myself (as opposed to paying the photog to do it).

I follow a forum for my venue, and a bride noted that she asked her WC if one of the entertainment staff could record the ceremony on the bride's vidcam, and they happily agreed. She gave him a nice tip afterwards. I might go that route, or see if another guest would be willing to do it. I'm sure someone would be cool with it.
