Wow ... that is so friggin' RUDE! Honestly, I would have taken my dress to another shop for the alterations if I was treated like that. I got my dress at Davids Bridal and am not a very big fan of that company ... so already got an estimate for alterations at another more high-end shop ... and what David's was going to charge me almost $200 will be udner $100 at this other shop. So, if there's any time to do so, I'd go somewhere where the employees have a little more class.

Thats awful!! What makes them think they can treat people like that!

I'm kind of glad you posted this, not because you were hurt, but because when I ordered my dress I was so close to my normal size, but my waist was 1 1/2 inches bigger that that size, so they wanted me to get the next size up. And all this time I've been thinking I know I'm going to have to get it altered when I get it because it's going to be too big up top in a bigger size, and I was also planning to lose weight and have been sooooo bad with my eating.

So anyway, this kind of made me check myself because my dress is going to be in this week and god forbid it didn't fit, oh I will cry!! So I have to, have to, have to be good with my eating until I leave for Mexico! I feel like a broken record, but I really have to be good so that my dress will fit and look good!

Don't worry, you & your dress are going to be beautiful!!

That's terrible... and it makes me really scared!

I just ordered my dress on Monday. They wanted me to order a size 12 and I refused! I tried on the 14 and it was 7 inches too big... so there was NO way I was letting them order me a 12 so that I would have to pay huge alteration charges. But, now I'm really nervous that it isn't going to fit me!!! AHh!

Nope, no details... or pictures. Sorry. I didn't plan on ever posting pictures for fear of anyone seeing them... but then when I was at the store I got so excited that I didn't even take any pictures!

Mo - That sucks! What a bucnh of B*tches! But trust me you are not the only person this has happened to. I ordered my dress and was measured and everything and they ordered the same size as the sample which fit... well it turns out that the sample was all stretched out! So when MY new dress showed up it fit but it was super unfglattering! I mean it was like, "wow look at that spare tire!" So in the end not only did I pay for it to be hemmed, the straps to be taken up but I also ended up having them let it out all the way!

Thank god there was room in it but seriously, they should really tell people ahead of time that even if the sample fits that the dress you get will be smaller! At least the seamstress was nice about it I think I honestly would have killed her if she wasn't... I am very impressed with your restraint and great sense of humor!

Anyway my point it - I think I spent more than you for alterations - but in the end it looked great, and you will too!

Mo - The dress is absolutely going to be gorgeous on you! I hate that they have made you less excited about it!! Where is this shop? I will go down and kick their butts!! smile67.gifsmile67.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
