Getting married in 2012. So many questions

Recommended Posts

I am getting married at the gp in march 2012 and trying  to get an idea of whats going on.  The wedding planner said she doesn't start until 2 months prior to the wedding.  I am trying to choose my wedding package and wondering it states a max. of 8 people any extra is $20 pp. Does anyone have any information about this.  My wedding has $! guest?

Hi KAntoine,

Unfortunately I don't know anything about the GP and you are probably locked into the Planner there.  I chose a Private Villa and an independent Planner, Denise Taylor.  My wedding is in May 2012 and Denise and I started working together two months ago.  This was

really important to be given I don't plan to make any site visits prior to arriving for my wedding.  Denise has 30 years of planning weddings

on the island and given she's an independent, she's very forthcoming about the pros and cons of everything.  She answered a lot of my

questions even before we signed a contract.  She may do the same for you.  At a minimum, she may help you understand some of the

resort mumbo jumbo until your Planner can begin working with you.  Here's her website.  http://www.eventplanningextraordinaire.com/contact.htm

I am getting married at the Grand Palladium Jamaica in March!  Do a search for that resort and you will find a few very useful threads that you can subscribe to. It will help you TONS!

If you have 41 guests coming, then the package will include 8 guests. You will need to pay $20 each for the extra 33 people.  That is for the ceremony, in order to pay for champagne, extra chairs, etc.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
