My guy is wearing a grey suit by Tommy Hilfiger from Macy's. We got it at one of their sales for less than half price. We found some great ties at http://www.bows-n-ties.com/ - inexpensive, and great quality too!! He got an aqua & white striped tie, and we ordered orange & white striped ties for my dad & brother (we don't have any groomsmen).

FI is wearing a grey michael kors or jones new york suit from men's wearhouse. we got them both when they were having their big 2-for 1 sale. (a steal!!) now we just gotta decide which one! hehe love them both. groomsmen are wearing charcoal slacks from JC penney and simple button down white shirts.

Hubby will be wearing a kahki suit that we have yet to purchase from Men's Warehouse- waiting for the BOGO sale!  He will be wearing a royal blue tie to match the bridesmaid dresses.

The groomsmen have linen pants I bought from Old Navy and will wear white button down shirts with orange ties.  Hubby and groomsmen all have matching brown leather sandals!

My dad will be wearing the same as the groomsmen but with a yellow tie.

If you can't figure it out- my colors are blue, orange and yellow! :)

The ties are all from the tie mart (I think is what it's called) online.  Every tie is silk and was only $15!! :)

We're having a Hindu ceremony, so groom is wearing a "suit" called a sherwani. Think formal bling-y long coat with billowy pants -- which he can't wait to shed for a light linen suit (or maybe just linen pants and button-up), Western style, for the reception. We've gotten the sherwani, but not the linen suit yet!

ok - How did I JUST find this thread!? I'm getting married Nov 20 (trip is 18th - 25th) in Cabo San Lucas (Dreams Los Cabos). I've just read through this thread and some of you are SO ahead of me. Yikes :P

I have my dress, bridesmaid dresses (BCBG), groomsmen pants (JCrew), and that's about it. We have 54 people booked and paid for so far....We are super excited but I'm realizing now that I better kick planning into gear....ie. OOT bags.... yikes. I want to order bags and Bubba Muggs. How much are you girls budgetting per person or per room for the OOT bags?

Also - I didn't even think about sending invites since we already have everyone booked. Do you think you should still send them?

Looking forward to connecting ladies!!! countdown is on!

Welcome!!

I am also not as on top of things as some of these ladies here!

I sent out STD's, but I am also doing invites, just so I can get a definite number of who is coming.  I ordered them through vistaprint and they should be here in the next few days.    It sounds like everyone is communicating with you about whether they are coming or not...so you might not need invites....

I have my dress, BM dresses, centerpieces, favors, and escort things so far.  I need to get the little tags and stuff on everything.  And I also need to get cracking on the groom and groomsmen attire.

I also need to start on my OOT bags.  I am estimating 40-50 people, so 20-25 bags, with a few singles, and I am budgeting about $20 per person.  I am sure I will go way over that, because I can see myself adding this and that in the next 4 months, but that budget is my plan!  We'll see.  :)

Hi! Yes my guest list is 100% confirmed. The only people left to book is a family that are having medical issues so they may be last minute - but otherwise we are at 54 paid (about 31 rooms). Our travel package made sure everyone booked by April so that really helped us know what #s we would be dealing with!

For OOT bags - Are you doing $20 per Room or Person? We are thinking of doing Bubba Mugs for everyone or Bubba Mugs for our friends and nice bags for my parent's friends. I just can't decide on whether to do these: http://www.shopbubba.com/p-287-bubba-34-oz-mug-classic-plum.aspx ($8 x 54 people!) or buy nice bags and then just get cheaper cups.....  not sure people will care or even expect nice gifts but I like the idea of the nice mugs that will keep drinks cold (not just hold the drinks). Maybe I'm being ridiculous. thoughts?

How much did your invites come to? Did you do passport invites?

I'm waiting for our RSVPs to come back, and final payments to be made before I make place cards. We have to put the entree selection on them, so I need to know what the guests want to eat!

As far as deco, I have paper lanterns to hang from the reception/dinner location, some glitter (wood) shells to throw on the tables, table runners, and a bunch of shells/starfish too. I'm trying to get an idea from EDR if they have either a bowl or tall vase that we can put some sand, shells and a votive in for the tables. Something like this:

I haven't done table numbers yet - I asked my FI to find photos he wanted to use for them and he hasn't done that yet (boys!!).

I haven't made the aisle markers, but have the materials. I'm doing the smaller paper lanterns with ribbon, maybe a starfish. I have to play around with them to see what I like.

My menus have been designs, but not printed. I need to finalize the ceremony/programs so I can get them printed at the same time.

Let's see...my "To Do" list also includes the OOT bags - have most of the stuff, but won't put them together until I get a near-final # of guests. Same with the "ceremony pack" - programs, fans and tears of joy packet with a ribbon/tag. I need to make the DIY LED "throwies" for the lanterns too. I also need to make a tag for the favors (still waiting for those to come in - hopefully next week).

Then lastly I need to write a welcome letter for everyone to drop in their bags.

whew....

allieH - have you bought your "bags" for the OOT? if so - where did you get them from? You seem to have so much of this under control, I thought I'd go to the expert :)

Yes - I lucked out and got them from another BDW bride a while back. We are going with the reusable grocery bags. They are orange (one of our colors), plain, no printing or anything. I'll jazz them up with tissue paper and a tag - really simple.

We wanted something practical that could be useful later, and wasn't too expensive. We have about 45 people coming (as of today), so we just couldn't afford to spend $20 per bag. I think our final will be around $6 per bag. We'll do the tumblers (see below), a survival kit with OTC meds (about $100 for the variety that I got), door hangers, a welcome note, and a weekend timeline. I would like to add sunscreen or aloe if I can find some small sizes of those. If we venture into Playa or Cancun prior to the guests arriving, we may look for something cheap and Mexican to add to them. My FI's philosophy is that we aren't going to put anything in the bags that they can already get from the resort (food or booze).  lol

Our second lucky find was insulated tumblers at Dollar Tree like these. We found 36 clear ones, and while I still need a few more, I couldn't pass up $1 each!!! We haven't found the rest we need, so may end up with something slightly different for the rest of the group. We're doing vinyl labels with our logo on it to make them more personal.

We're also doing favors that we'll give them at the wedding, about $3 each. Plus hosting a private dinner, about $25 - $30 each. It all adds up, especially for a larger group.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
