November 2012 Brides?

Yes, after much research, I decided it was a better deal to fly down my photographer.  It would have been about $2500 for the photographer that I wanted in Mexico with 6 hours on the wedding day and a TTD the next day.  After using my comp'ed nights for the photographer and her assistant- it will be $2000 for a photographer for 3 days! She will be doing a full wedding day shoot and a TTD session.  Plus I'm sure we'll get some extra shots in there as well! :) Oh and the engagement photos! :)

we are flying our photographer in as well. she's a good friend of mine, and I couldn't imagine anyone else doing our photos. We did a couples session with her in early 2011. With the comped nights, it works out about the same as hiring anyone local. I have the peace of mind in knowing her style fits with mine, and trusting that the end result will be amazing. That's worth it to me!!

Plus she gets to share in our special day, which is most important.

  • 1 month later...

Good- I feel like it is now crunch time and I need to start working on all those "things that can wait."  I am going to start working on my diy boarding pass invites soon and I am finalizing the flowers with the florist.

We are now starting to house shop as well and are planning the shower and bachelorette party for  one of my best friend's wedding in Sept- HELLO STRESS!!! :)

How's everyone else?

Uhm yeah Shan - nothing like packing a whole lot into a short time!!! good luck.

Am trying to pull all of the details together now - little tags for the favors, the survival kits for the OOT bags, tags for the OOT bags, etc. Just balancing all of that with work, since it's our busy season right now and isn't going to let up until I head for Mexico (sigh!!).

That is why I have decided to keep my OOT bags to a minimum- the bags, cups with lids, a welcome letter and maybe a few meds or something- I don't have time to go overboard...what all are you putting in your bags?

Hi ladies,

I am getting married at Excellence Riviera Cancun on Nov 30th!  I am very excited, but also pretty nervous when I compare what I have done, (STD'S and that's it) to what you all have accomplished so far.  Way to be on the ball!  It seems hard to start with OOT's and stuff when I am not sure what the final count will be.  So far 32 people have booked.  I still haven't picked out bridesmaidsd dress yet...that is becoming a thorn in my side--I just can't decide.  :/

Hi and welcome!!

Just do what I did- I went to David's bridal and picked out a color- (Horizon Blue) and that I wanted a short dress and then let every girl pick her own style of dress (with my approval of course).  I have 6 bridesmaids and 2 attendants/usherettes so it would have been hard to find something that looked good on everyone! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
