Hello Allie

I will be in surgery the day that you find out about your guests....  I hope all the people that you want to come will come and the ones you don't will just stay home lol!

I will be having 4 bridesmaids..( one i think will be honorary as she just found out she's prego!!)   I have done up cards for each girl and then i am going to get little boxes and ring pops to put in them.  The cards say "Will you be my bridesmaid?"  so it will look like I'm proposing !!!  Thought it would be a cute way to do it!!!  The weekend after my surgery is the wedding show so they are all going to be in town for that!!!

I am thinking that we might go with the Jade NOW resort ....  I really like all the options for wedding locations and the resort looks beautiful but i am worried about what people are saying on trip advisor. Just after Christmas the reviews were really bad but now they are looking better! Thoughts?

hi elisa!!!

I'm going with the El Dorado Royale, and November 5th - the day before you!! welcome to our little group - we're now 3 November 2012 brides lol

I haven't read much about the Grand Riviera Princess Resort. Tell me what you liked about it - I'm curious!! Where are you with the rest of your planning? (see, I'm soooo nosey)  cheers.gif

Nikki - so the 25th is your surgery date. got it!!! You will be fine. Just fine. I love your idea about the bridesmaids - such a cute idea. and so glad they will be with you after your surgery. good luck with that!

The Now Jade was on my list - I loved the patio with the pergola on it as a setting for the ceremony. Still in view of the beach, but not in the sand sounded perfect to me. I read a lot of those reviews too, and I don't think they were any worse than some of the other resorts. I really tend to take them with a grain of salt - if they are ALL bad, then that's concerning, but there are more than enough positive ones. What I use the reviews for is to set my expectations. As in "ok, this bride had a tough time with check in, so now I know that this will be a challenge for me. I'll be prepared with the email correspondence, documentation, etc to get through it". that sort of thing.

So far we have 10 rooms booked - 19 people!!!!! We've heard from a number of others that they will be booking, so I think we may end up around 30 people total. I get daily updates from my travel agent (I love her, just love her!). I'm so freakin excited about it. As others have said, there are people I expected to go who aren't (my sister, and a couple of my closest friends), and others who are gung-ho about going that I never anticipated would join us.

We've decided where we're going to register, and my fiancé is bailing out on going to register in person. He's going to take charge on the online registry we'll do. I can't wait to go shopping!!!

Nikki - when I was trying to choose, the one thing I kept in mind is that "no matter which resort you choose, it'll be beautiful, and you will get married".

Have you put together a list of all the things you're looking for in a resort, and then checked them off against the resorts you're looking at? that may make it easier to compare them and choose. If you want a place to start, I can post mine for you.

And that probably isn't the way you wanted to lose 10lbs right? I'm thinking about you and hoping your surgery goes well, and you have a quick and easy recovery!!!

Elisa - where do you live?

I'm a little bummed, my girlfriend who has been gung-ho about our wedding the entire time has decided she can't go. I was waiting to ask her to be my unofficial bridesmaid (wanted to get her booked first so there was no pressure), and she's one of my closest friends. But her SIL decided to do a DW in Vegas in June, which means the savings my friend had set aside for my wedding will now go for the SIL's wedding. I'm so sad, hurt and kind of pissed too. I know it's out of my control, and everyone makes choices. and family trumps friends - lots of reasonable things going through my head. but it doesn't change how disappointed I am. *sigh*

So now I don't think I'll have anyone getting ready with me except my mom (my sister isn't going either). I'll get over it... but just bummed right now.

Hi fellow November 2012 brides!

My name is Amy and I'm getting married November 9 at Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar.  We just sent out our save the dates (passports that received overwhelming praise - I'll try to post a picture later) and I found my dress :)

I'm happy to see there are other brides getting married in November.  Maybe we're ahead of the curve by starting our own group.

Just thought I'd say hi and I look forward to planning virtually with you.

Nikki - good luck on your surgery

Hey all my november brides!!

Hey Amy .. Nice to meet you!!  What location are u using at the Barcelo???

So my surgery kicked the shit out of me!!  10x more then I every thought it would!!   I'm off for the next 2 weeks so I have tons of time to plan!!!

So today I gave out my bridesmaids invite card inviting all my brides maids!!   I did card and boxes in out wedding colours in the boxes I did ring pops so it was like I proposed to my bridesmaids!!! They all loved them -- one of my bridesmaid joked that I was proposing to to all of them and I was like ya I'm a porposal hore!!!

So we are thinking about going with the jade now rough top!!  Can't wait to get the planning rolling!!!

What did you all or are u all doing for invites???

oh Nikki - sorry the surgery was tough for you. How is the recovery so far?? I've been thinking about you!!

Glad the girls like your bridesmaids "proposal" - how FUN!!!

I really liked the Now Jade when I was looking at it. I can't way to hear how your planning is coming!!!

So we had to do the electronic STDs like I've been whining about. These essentially sent everyone to our wedding website, which gives all the info regarding pricing and booking. It worked - we have 42 people right now going with us - holy crap!!!

I'm choosing a more traditional the invite since I was unable to send my post card STD. I've picked out a layered, handmade paper design. It'll have 2 layers of blue handmade paper, and 1 ivory card stock with the actual invite printed. It'll have a ribbon running through it. I need to scan the inspiration and I'll try to post that tomorrow. I found the design at a local paper store and just fell in love with it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
