Last Name Issue. Time to Confront it!

I agree with the ladies on here. Take his last name. It really doesn't rhyme that much anyway.

 

And BTW - I LOVE the name Jacquelyn.

I agree with everyone, Jackie Mathey is a great name, and you will hardly ever use it in speaking to someone anyway.

 

BTW - I love my name Elizabeth and I always tried to get people to start calling me that, but it was so hard because I was Lizz since I was a baby. The first semester of every year at college, in classes when they asked if I had a nickname I said no my name was "Elizabeth". After a day or so, it was too hard, so I was back to "Lizz" again...lol!

My entire life people called me Angie or Ang. Just after I met Matt, I went through a phase and wanted everyone to call me Angela. Well, all the new people I've met call me Angela, everyone else Angie. My point: no matter how hard you try, people who new you as Jackie, won't start calling you Jacquelyn but at least when you address people formally, it will sound beautiful! I like your full name!

 

Oh, side note. My girlfriend Sheri was engaged to a man who's last name was Sherry.... Sheri Sherry!!! That's much worse! lol

I don't think Jackie Mathey really rhymes. And seriously, how juvenile do you have to be to realize it does and then laugh about it? I wouldn't worry about it. I think whatever you choose would be great!

Ditto to what everyone said, start introducing your full name instead or whatever you like better. I'm Chinese and my first name is very difficult to say. When I was in college, there were so many versions I was tired of correcting people. So after college, I started using my middle name that I added when I was naturalized. To date, old friends from HS and college still call me by my first name.

 

Jackie Mathey doesn't really sound funny at all. To those that make fun of it, tell them to grow up!

I don't think Jacki Mathey sounds bad at all! I like it, it just flows off your tounge. And when you introduce yourself you could say "Jacquelyn Mathey, but people call me Jackie" Then they don't follow one another.

My best friend got married and her full name is now Lisa Michelle Michele. lol She was so worried about it in the beginning, but we had to make her realise that no one calls her by her full name, and she is used to it now.

 

I agree with the girls, Jaqueline Mathey is a great name. I love Jaqueline, much more classy and elegant and hollywood sounding then Jackie.

I always avoided men with the last named Morgan. Morgan squared? There wouldn't be a good way to handle that.
