I met gloria the other day and she is so nice and friendly. I am not nervous about anything at all. I cannot get over how beautiful it is here. the food and drinks are wonderful.  when i return, i will write up about the wedding.

  • 3 weeks later...

Hey Everyone.     I have recently heard that the Excellence Riviera Cancun is charging $500USD per external photographer.  Has anyone else got this answer from them?  I've photographed alot of weddings there and  in the past they have required just day passes for each photographer.  I'd be surprised if it has changed so drastically but am curious to find out...   I have heard about this from other resorts too but have yet to confirm it.   Any information you have would help. Thanks.

Yep, unfortunately they do charge $500 for outside vendors. It really sucks :(

OK ladies, I'm getting really excited!!! I can't believe my wedding is only 3 1/2 weeks away!! YIKES! Maybe I will get my OOT bags put together tonight so I can post them for you ladies...I'm such a procrastinator :)

Anyone do a boudoir shoot for their fiance? I am doing one next week...sooo nervous but very excited! I've never done anything like this and I think my fiance will be really surprised. I just decided to do it last minute, I don't know what has gotten into me!

I'm so burnt out at work right now...just dying to be on the beach with my awesome friends and family (and my handsome soon to be hubby!!) woot.gif

How are you ladies doing?

as far as the outside vendor pricing goes, if the photographer is a paying guest at the hotel then there should not be a fee. it's as if they would be charging you for your friend to take your photos. Since I am a destination wedding photographer, I have never witnessed a couple needing to pay the fee because I am always staying at their resort (which isn't cheap!) One time, a couple straight out told their resort they would not use their resort photographer and are hiring their own, and the wedding coordinator was able to pull the fee ;)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
