@@JaimeCKL beautiful dress!! Love it!

When are you guys sending out the invites? I'm not sure how soon I should do this... ?

They gave me so much info, and I was just told by Alessandra that Tamara will be my WC the day of. She must be swamped if most of us have her!

@@vanessajfelice Awesome!!! We should definitely meet for a drink!! I see you are from Chicago? Where are you located?

@@KeriT21 Thank you!! I hope to get it soon! We are currently working on invitations, so much more expensive than I had anticipated!! We were told that we should mail out our invites no later than 6 months before (so next month) and have a RSVP by deadline of 3 months before, which is June for us. I think I finally found the ones we are doing, now I am just confirming my entree options with Thamara so that I can order the RSVP cards as well.

I sent my invites out right before the holidays, with a Feb 1 RSVP. They wanted us to have them in a couple months before the wedding. Where did you guys order from? We used Minted.com and with their codes it saved a lot of money. I know WeddingPaperDivas also does a lot of sales!

I think by the time we get these invites done it will be end of March before the actually get received so it will be about 5 months out.

I found one I loved at Minted, but even with a discount they worked out to be about $7 a piece after all the envelopes and addressing and such and even for our small wedding that is another $350 before postage so I had someone deign one on Etsy with the RSVP card and the Travel Details card and I am going to have them printed. We will go to Michael's and get fancier gold envelopes and vellum and twine or ribbon and make them fancier ourselves. That should save us a good amount, but is time consuming. I am just trying to figure out what to do about addressing them because I do not know calligraphy and want them to look nice, but I think printing them on a printer will look off.

We sent save the dates about 11 months prior (essentially right after we locked in with the resort). We sent the invitations about six months in advance with an RSVP date of two months before the wedding.

We had someone on Etsy custom design our STDs and invites. We also paid him extra to handle the printing and cutting because I didn't want to have to deal with it, especially because our RSVP cards were cut differently.

Did everyone for the most part rsvp, or did they forget? I'm just nervous about doing so far in advance that people lose it, or if it gets lost in the shuffel . I know i'm guilty of losing wedding invites lol

We also sent our Save the Dates out 10 months in advance. I think people know fairly quickly with a destination wedding if they can make it work and will RSVP and I am hopeful that the invite and early RSVP date will help motivate them to make that decision so that I can know numbers for welcome bags and favors!!

@@JaimeCKL I live in Chicago.  I work in Naperville though.  We will be moving to Austin though in about 2 months.  When do you leave from Mexico?  We are there the 17-25 of September.  I can't wait to get there and see the resort, it looks beautiful!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
