@@Sabes44 Ah you must be counting down the days! How long are you guys staying? We're figuring that part out now. We don't plan on leaving to go anywhere else for our "honeymoon" so i was trying to work out how long we should stay after. I think most of our guests will stay a day or two after. We'll see!

I think Los Olas will be PERFECT! I can't wait to see pictures. Are you all set with all your plans? So excited for you.

We are counting down the days!  We will be there for 10 days (9 nights).  We were going to go somewhere else, but it was too much trouble to transfer and figured it would be more relaxing to just be able to hang out there after the wedding.

I am pretty set with everything, just a few final things to take care of but nothing too big.  I am getting pretty excited now that it is so close and the majority of the planning is done so now is the fun part :)

@crystal14 let us know how it goes!  I will be leaving shortly after you get back.  @ giocivs88  I will let you all know how it goes.  This forum has been a great help to me and I will make sure to review it when I get back!  I haven't done much on posting my planning process, but I figured I will add some of that stuff into the review.

@@upstatekj That all sounds so perfect! Are you doing food at the Xlounge? Is that the bar that's right off the beach? That sounds like a great place too! And how fun will that be to be there for the 4th.

Are you doing the shot sign, at the ceremony? Or when they get to the reception.

Good to know you're sending invites early! I didn't want people to be like why the heck am I getting this. Question for you. When are you handing out the bags, at the welcome dinner? And if so, how did you let your friends/family know there WAS a welcome dinner.

Tables - I'm torn also! Would you do one long table or multiple. I think i'll do round. I feel no one can talk at long tables and this way maybe people will mingle and it'll fill up the room more. We have no idea how many are coming yet but I'm assuming close to your number!

@@victoriasalv We are doing the shots at the reception - they are acting as seating assignments :) We are not technically having a welcome dinner, just a cocktail hour with apps. This was actually included in the package we got through our travel agent. I've mentioned the weekend events on our wedding website, you can view it here if you want!

@@Crystal17 and @@hapykat - you guys must be so excited!! Time really does fly by. Can't wait to read your reviews and see your photos! Glad to hear Jessica is so organized! Are you both doing any extras for your guests like excursions?

Also, and this may be a personal question - what are you all giving your MOH/groomsmen and parents? Was thinking it might be nice to treat them to the spa at the resort as part of a gift.

Are any of you (or your men) planning on golfing? I believe the closest course is at Excellence Playa Mujeres around 30 mins away.

@@upstatekj we are not doing any excursions for our guests.  Some guests are doing stuff on their own, most of our guests made it a vaca for themselves and most like to drink and relax lol so we figure let everyone do what they want.  My fiance and I are taking a trip to the ruins and I'm really excited about that.  This is our 5th trip to Mexico (4th to Excellence) and since we'll be there 10 days this time we decided now is the time to do the runis trip because it's a full day trip!   That's a great idea for the gifts, who doesnt love the spa!  And they have an amazing spa!

I can't believe we leave three weeks from tomorrow!!! Ahhh! :D

We are staying for ten nights. Our guests are staying for a range of three nights to six nights. We aren't really thinking of this as a traditional honeymoon since we travel often; it's more like a regular vacation (except for the whole wedding part ;) ). That's why we welcomed our guests/friends to stay as long as they want and we aren't changing resorts.

So, my mom has been like another MOH for me (along with my sister), so I got them both Kate Spade tote bags and a pair of Toms. I'm getting my mom and future mother-in-law a custom mother of the bride/groom ceramic ring dish (Etsy). I bought my sister's jewelry for the wedding. I might pick up a couple of other small things for them. I'm getting my step-dad a custom hammer (Etsy)... sounds funny but it's really cute and fitting since he's a carpenter. I'm going to leave the father of the groom up to my fiancé, but I'm guessing something to do with beer (ha!)... glasses or something.

The guys were going to go golfing (since we didn't do bachelor/bachelorette parties), but it was going to end up costing close to $300/person with transportation, greens fees, club rental, etc., so they decided against it.

We are not paying for any excursions for our guests. Because of the varied time frames it would be too hard to plan, plus it would just be very expensive (over $3000 for 30 people). We are surprising everyone - even our families - with the private fire and percussion show. No one knows about except for us. We also put quite a few things in the OOT/gift bags. About seven of us girls are swimming with the dolphins on Thursday morning, and then we'll be doing an excursion ourselves after everyone leaves.

@@JenniferH114 I can't wait to hear about all of that. Especially the fire show! What a fun surprise!! I bet their faces will be priceless. Haha

Yikes that's a lot for golf I can totally see why you are forgoing it. I love the ideas for all the gifts. I'm trying to think of something nice to get my future MOH. Are you getting your groom something? That's another part I'm struggling with (although I know I have time) haha.

@@Crystal17 So glad you love the Excellence that much to return that many times! I've been once but I sure did love it.

@@upstatekj Your website is adorable!! Great job. And love the mention of the trip being "their vacation".

That's so great that it was included! All I wanted was just like you're doing.. casual apps/drinks mingling. Nothing like a sit down. Although I wonder if I could get a discount if I don't do a sit down haha we'll see.

@victoriasalv - We discussed and decided that we are not exchanging gifts. We just bought a house about a week ago, and we have a goldendoodle puppy coming our way the week after we return from the wedding. We are thinking of the puppy as a joint gift. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
