@@JaimeCKL That's such a good idea to do things little by little. I'm that way too. Let me know if you find any good deals. Where's the best place to get like meds/tylenol etc. Amazon? I should prob start collecting now.

SO exciting when people book. It makes it feel very real. We can book flights the end of Oct through Southwest i'm like counting down to that so it feels more real haha

Something else you can do early, is book your Spa appointment for your hair/makeup. I mean you have plenty of time to do that too but that was one thing that felt good to cross off the list!

We were super fortunate and able to book our airfare already so we are completely booked! I did find some super cute inflatable flamingo cup holders for our bags for a steal on Amazon.

As far as the meds I think I saw a site somewhere with the best deals....let me see if I can find it again.

Check out drugstore.com for welcome bag items. I got Tylenol, sunscreen, tums and a few other things from them.  They have the great "sample" size packets that are perfect for the bags!  I got my chapstick from Bulk Apothcary.com and made my own labels.

Looks like you guys are really on top of things! My wedding is May 27, which seems far away but I'm sure it'll fly by. I feel so disorganized! Im in the process of ordering invitations as I want to get them out beginning of December. It's hard to plan other things such as welcome bags, favors when I don't know how many guests.

My mother booked a 3 night trip for her me and my sister in November, so I'm sure I'll feel better after that. I'm going to meet with Maribel for an hour, do a food tasting, and a hair/makeup trial. I'm wondering if I should meet with anyone else- dj/photographer/florist? We'll see.

I want to have a centerpiece on each table rather than just what the package includes. I want to do a lantern with a candle in it and a small glass vase/mason jars with the some flowers. I'm waiting to hear back from the florist about prices on small flower arrangements for the vase. Not sure if I'll bring down the lanterns/vases or ship them. What are you guys doing about centerpieces?

@@victoriasalv - The labels weren't too difficult to put on a few were definitely crooked!  But, I had extras so it was okay.  I searched a lot on this site for templates and ended up finding some I liked and just tweaked it a bit and bought the labels they recommended.

@@kathryn78 - Here's a pics of our décor. We used burlap table runners, which we left there, and the vases with sand and shells and floating candles. We also had other things on the table, including white starfish, custom maracas, custom coasters, etc.

Also, just my unsolicited opinion, but a trial hair and make-up run it totally unnecessary. They are so incredibly good there, you'd be better off spending your time enjoying some fun in the sun. I understand that it might put your mind at ease, but just a thought.

@@JaimeCKL - Those are the cutest cup holders. I love it!! Let me know what other goodies you  have I definitely need inspiration!

@@Sabes44 I'll check it out for sure. I think that's such a unique idea.

@@kathryn78 that's so awesome you're going down before. You ladies will have so much fun and I bet it'll set your mind at ease. Let me know what you find out about the multiple centerpieces. I'm sure they will do their best to accommodate. Are you using the in-house photographer? They should be there if you want to meet with them. Our weddings are so close you're right it's totally gonna fly. I think once the holidays come we'll really feel it. I'm with you. Invites BEFORE the holidays!!

I'm going to start gathering things for the welcome bags early thought... things that I don't mind if I have extra of. Those that will matter - like the bags itself i'll hold off until more people book. We are currently at 34, I'm figuring the extras I can just throw in double up in peoples bags they'd probably appreciate that. I just don't want to wait until the last minute to buy things. Gotta spread it out!

Thanks @@JenniferH114 !! I actually just bought burlap table runners off craigslist! You said you left them there- do they let other brides use decor people have left? Or rent them?

Did you order extra flowers through the resort's florist? I think I'll order some for the table centerpieces. But we're going to make fake flower bouquets for my 7 bridesmaids and bring them down. That'll be much cheaper and there's a website afloral.com that I've heard has great fake flowers.

Love the pics! Where was your reception? Awesome lighting!

I want to get the maracas as favors too!. I've emailed them twice through their contact us section on the website, and no response! I'm not too worried because I know there's time and I can't order until I have a better idea on number of guests. But I'd really like to have an idea on prices to see if it's even in the budget. Do you remember what you paid for the custom maracas?

I've heard the spa is really good with hair and makeup, but I get nervous with hair up-dos so I know I'll just feel better if I do it before and take lots of pics in case not the same stylist.

@@JenniferH114 I love those pictures. The glass vases, did you bring those down? I was thinking of maybe doing flowers on some tables and floating candles on another - depending what I'm allowed to do. We are not having a bridal party so I'm trying to rework the flowers we get with the package! haha

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
