Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Hello, newy here!

One question, does anybody knows how hot it gets around June? I booked Las Olas for cocktail and reception and not sure if should change it to Oregano. I believe they don't have a lot of options for small receptions with air conditioner.

Any review you might have on any  of this places would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

It can get pretty warm. I think that Las Olas is actually your best option for a small group. How many are in your group? We had 30 and had cocktails at Las Olas and the reception in the Lobster House (they only allow that on Fridays). Las Olas is so pretty b/c it's right on the beach and the breeze is beautiful! I would suggest bringing string lights for them to hang for you.

We were married at the end of June and it was HOT. A "feels like" temp over 90 each day. We had our ceremony at the beach gazebo, cocktail at Las Olas and reception at Oregano with 40 guests.

Of the 3, Oregano was the warmest because it is partially enclosed and the beach breeze is somewhat blocked. They also put up a fake wall next to the DJ booth which further blocks the breeze. We had them take down the wall midway through the reception because it was so hot and that helped a lot. If you do choose Oregano I would suggest telling your coordinator to exclude the fake wall... it's really not necessary because the location is already private enough.

We were really happy with Oregano for the reception, the size was perfect and the room itself is nicely decorated... but it was very warm. I think Las Olas would be a good spot as well, especially for 30 people. We had the cocktail hour there and there was a nice breeze. Plus it's very cute and you really get the "on the beach" experience.

Hi everyone, newbie here!

I'm getting married here in September 2019, I'm curious if anyone has any pictures of their hair and make up. Im on the fence of letting them do my make up and it coming out bad! Well actually, I'm nervous about the whole thing, I've emailed my coordinator about 5x with tons of questions. Any advice from former excellence brides? Thanks!

I had my hair and make up done by them and I was very pleased with it.  I asked for minimalistic make up and I wasn't disappointed.  I had a hair trial before (I think it was around $70 which was added to my room), they can create any design and all the other brides I saw looked equally beautiful.  Just allow enough time as they don't rush and I didn't leave myself much time to get ready.

Thank you so much! I have my ceremony at 5 so I know I still have a lot of time to set my timeline for the day I was thinking maybe 1230/1 start Jaír and make up but I guess I’ll figure that out. Did you use the dj and photographer there as well? I have 18 guest going and I just can’t seem to convince myself to pay so much for a big photo package I was thinking maybe doing one hour package for the cocktail hour or reception. Thanks so much sorry for all the questions 😃

Hi Des, yes please allow yourself plenty of time.  There was only 4 of us for our wedding so no, didn't use the DJ and we used the photographer as part of our package.  We had photos taken around the main ground and we purchased some extra photos but they aren't cheap.  We also had the one hour cocktail which will be good if you have 18 guests and then I had my reception that the French restaurant as we had a storm on our wedding day so the actual wedding had to be moved from the pier to an area by the main reception.  To be honest, it was still an amazing day.  Don't worry about asking, I know exactly how you feel as I was the same.  We are returning back next year but not until October.

Does anyone recommend having the reception at Oregeno and the cocktail at x-lounge. I really don’t want to get a dance floor and extra lighting to have it at las olas im already bringing all my own decorations and centerpieces so I’m trying to limit bring more stuff. We are doing our ceremony at the pier. September wedding so I’m hoping for a nice breeze and no hurricanes

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
