Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Recommended Posts

I can not believe that we leave a week from tomorrow! So excited! I have been working with Ariana and I have found that if I am not getting an answer fast enough for me, I can call and get an immediate answer, which is nice. She has been super helpful so far and I am hopeful for the whole thing going smoothly! Does anyone know of a great packing list for the resort? I know I will forget something!!

Good luck Jamie! We arrive on your wedding day, so I will peek around that evening to see if I can sneak a peek! It's all going to be perfect and if it isn't, we are still in Mexico, so that is awesome on its own!

Hello Ladies - I am happy to share that I just booked our wedding date at ERC for June 2017! This forum has been soooo helpful already and a lot of my questions have already been answered.

We are considering ceremony at the beach location (toes in sand). Can anyone tell me if there is an extra cost for the wooden structure I see in so many pics?

edit: We are choosing the Gold Package, in case that makes a difference.

@@roamfree Congratulations and you definitely won't be disappointed.  Itt doesn't matter which location you choose from to get married at (Pier, Gazebo, Beach) , it's the actual wedding packages that denote the price.

It will be here before you know it.  Just beware the WP take a little longer to respond but they will get back to you.

We just got back yesterday from Excellence! Our wedding was on Thursday and it was perfect. I have photos I can post the link to later tonight once I get them off the CD. So any questions, feel free to ask!

@@roamfree The beach gazebo is a permanent structure and is not extra. I don't believe the curtains are extra either.

@@vanessajfelice Congratulations!! I would love to see pictures when you get the chance! How was the food and what did you choose? Also, I'm trying to work on my detailed day of schedule. Did you have one and what was the estimated timeline for everything (hair/makeup, ceremony, dinner, toast, cake cutting, etc.)?

Hello there! So I finally got our professional pictures uploaded on google photos. We just used beach wedding studios through the hotel for 2 hours and they were amazing! I believe they are called seasons wedding studio now.

The gazebo is permanent and with the wedding packages, they will put the drapes around the poles and also the carpet runner and the starfish and shells along it.

The food was amazing. We did the scallop with mixed greens for an app, seafood bisque for soup and then the filet and scallops app. We did the chocolate agavero cake for dessert and it was really rich. Then for our wedding cake we had 2 different flavors- one being tres leches which was SO GOOD. I only have a time line for our spa day and hair/makeup appts and then our photographer timeline for first look and ceremony. Once we sat down for the reception part, we just did it however we wanted since there was only 18 of us.

I'm happy to answer anything else that anyone needs though!

Your pics are great @@vanessajfelice.  You look gorgeous!

Was that "love" sign just at the resort?  I haven't seen it before and it was such a cool idea you had to get pics by it!  We are thinking about adding time to our package for photos.  Did you think the 2 hours were enough?  We have the gold excellence package so just have the ceremony, then 1 hour cocktail and then the reception.

Also, did you bring the lanterns and lights you had at your reception down or buy them from there?  Were they enough?  Our ceremony is at 5pm so I am worried it will be pretty dark by the end of the reception.

Thank you so much!

We actually rented the LOVE sign from Alquima- the vendor that does the extra decor.  It was $400 including tax.  We thought it would be a cool sign to give some light and to take pictures around!

So, for the pictures, we thought the 2 hours was more than enough time.  We did a first look from 4:30-4:50.  Then we had the ceremony from 5-5:30, the cocktail hour from 5:30-6:30 and sat down for dinner after that.  I think we actually probably did not even use her the full 2 hours we paid for.  So, for the ceremony, they "give" 20 minutes for that in addition to what you rent them for.  We did not want any of the getting ready or reception pics.  Our big thing was our first look, the ceremony and pics after of us on the beach.  So, we thought it was perfect!  It really all depends on what you are looking for from your pictures.

We did bring the lanterns and lights.  We paid $50 for them to hang them.  We brought 30 lanterns with little LED lights and the 4 sets of lights around the poles.  We did not want the Las Olas lights on at all, but it turns out they only had enough time to hang 15 of them with only 1 of our LED lights in each, so we needed the las olas lights they have in the corner.  Even with all of that, it was not too bright and we were happy with it.  Our ceremony was at 5 and we probably turned on the lights around 7:30.

Hi everyone! It's been a while, I decided it was time to finally start planning and spent the last 4 hours reading through forums on this site. It's so overwhelming, but so helpful!

I'm heading to ERC for vacation (wedding isn't until Nov 2017) later this week if anyone has specific things they'd like me to check out. ;)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
