Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

@@Tighev My coordinator is Thamara. I think other girls have her as well so not sure if others have had the same response rate lately. That is frustrating that its still taking 2 weeks when you are that close! 2 weeks is a long time especially when you have to make decisions and have follow up questions. I've gotten to the point where I'm just afraid to ask.

As an aside, I went to pick up my dress today! I was really disappointed with the quality of some of the stitching and the whole skirt is pleated and some of the pleats were not aligned properly. Like some spots were flat. I felt very bridezilla but they kept telling me, oh you can fix it in alterations that's because its hand pleated. I was thinking that I don't want to pay to have the entire dress re-pleated! Does anyone have any experience with altering a pleated dress? Not quite sure I can trust the bridal salon. This is my dress: http://www.sallyeagle.co.nz/index.php?view=c&a=29except where the bodice meets the skirt there is a big ripple that makes the lace flip up.

Hi Ladies,

Wanted to check in sooner - but our wedding went off fabulously on April 29th. I am in serious withdrawal about being back from our honeymoon.

The wedding was fantastic. Better than I could have imagined. Do not worry about a THING. I'll write a full review soon. As well as share some pics!

@@victoriasalv Congrats!! I can't wait to read your review! I was thinking about you at the end of april and hoping everything went wonderfully!

@@kjb0528     My coordinator is also Thamara.

They can do ANYTHING in alterations. I went to a sample sale and happened to fall in love with a dress (Maggie Sottero Tuscany in Ivory) that was a size 10. I wear a size 2. I was reluctant to buy the dress because I couldn't imagine the seamstress being able to size it down so much. They reassured me that the seamstress was excellent (she worked for Kleinfelds for many years, and even made wedding gowns independently.)  I bought the dress and went to the seamstress right away. It took a few months for her to work on it. But it fits like a glove! When the dress was finished, the seamstress admitted that she was nervous when I brought the dress to her. haha   And just to give you a frame a reference, it cost me $500 to have the dress altered. But keep in mind, she literally had to adjust the whole entire dress. So I don't think the pleating would be nearly as expensive.

By the way, the dress is beautiful!

Hi all brides to be! My name is Isabelle and we're getting married at the resort next June. Our wedding ceremony is at 11am and we,re having it on the beach, I know it'll be too bright for lights but does anyone have any decoration ideas, my partner and I aren't fans of the starfish we've seen on a few pictures. Many thanks xxx Also it's just the two of us as we wanted a private ceremony but my partner and I have decided to still do the reception and cocktail hour and anyone at the resort who wants to try some of the food/drink can help themselves

One year ago today, we were married at the ERC. The day could not have been more perfect. It was a beautiful wedding and a great vacation for all of those who came to share our special day.

It's hard to believe it's been a year. Enjoy this time because it flies!

@@Izzychadbone just wanted to double check you have definitely had the beach confirmed for your cocktail hour and reception with there only being the 2 of you.  I'm getting married in 10 weeks and I'm having the Las Olas for my reception (we have upgraded to the Excellence Love Package).  I had to get this specially approved as it normally has to be a minimum of 10 people to book Las Olas.  Just don't want you to have any hassle.

I've just filed my final decisions and just waiting for Alejandra to confirm everything.  It's coming around soooo fast now.

We get married at 3pm so i'm providing my own table runner and chair sashes, I've purchased batter operated table lights and personalised bunting to be hung up.  Nothing OTT with there only being 4 of us but special enough for it to be memorable.

Can any UK brides assist?  Is a copy of the marriage licence included in the wedding cost or is this additional?  I've asked my WP about obtaining an additional copy and I've just been sent information

 Marriage Certificate Translation $100

 Shipment is not included.

 15 business day.

 Blood Tests (per couple) $200

 Validation of Marriage Certificate $200

 Apostille

 Shipment is not included.

 3 months.

Is it necessary to have the certificate translated and aposilled for it to be recognised in the UK?

Also we have both been divorced and I've sent my documents to the WP for verification to see if these also need to be translated and apostilled before we arrive.  The WP advised these don't have to be however the document indicates otherwise?

 If divorced, a copy of divorce decree is required.

Has to be translated into Spanish and apostille.

Please note that if the bride has been divorced less than a year, she must take a mandatory pregnancy test at the resort ($100.00 USD) fee applies to be paid in cash at the doctor’s office). If the results are test is positive, only the Symbolic Wedding applies.

I'm getting really confused and anxious that I'm not receiving the correct information (even though I have their response in writing) and have this ending up causing me a problem when we arrive.

Can anyone who has faced a similar situation offer any advice / information?

Hi, my partner and I are both from the Uk. My partner went onto the Uk government website and emailed them regarding this subject. We got told that the ceremony is recognised over here as a legal marriage, you have to have a translated copy but you not need it to be apostilled. My partner is also divorced but for over a year so we haven't been requested to bring any additional documents. Hope this helps

@@Izzychadbone I've sent my WP copies of both of our divorces which are from an English court and not translated and she replied that she didn't need anything more. This is making me a little nervous incase it's wrong.

I'm just waiting for her to get back to me. We only have 10 weeks left.

Not sure if this is helpful but when my partner first told Thamara (wedding co-ordinator) that he was divorced all she requested was a copy of the divorce papers if divorced less than a year. If your co-ordinator is requesting the same I'm pretty sure they're right, best of luck x

@@Izzychadbone yes we sent our divorce papers to Alejandra, our WP and she said everything is fine but in the Excellence Wedding information document it states the paragraph below. I guess I'm just panicking a little as Alejandra advised this doesn't need to be done when I sent her copies.

 If divorced, a copy of divorce decree is required. Has to be translated into Spanish and apostille.

I'm just waiting for her to confirm if a copy of the wedding certificate is included in the wedding cost or if this is additional as well.  I'm planning on getting another copy and just waiting to find out what the cost of this will be. Sometimes the information in these documents can be a little ambiguous and I find myself checking and double checking x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
