Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Recommended Posts

@@mam9p8 You are getting married the month after me!  We chose the Excellence because we got engaged there in November and loved the resort.  I had reached out to the Excellence directly for a group rate before I reached out to my TA. The resort's group rate for the standard room was the same as on the website but the group discounts were better for the upgrades (e.g a swim-up room was only $10 more rather than $50 more). My TA was able to get a better group rate on the standard room and then match the resorts group rates for the upgraded rooms. We didn't look at any other resorts so I can't give you a good comparison.

I would not have survived pictures with my (long) hair down. It was very windy and, of course, hot. We had to keep tucking my veil under my arm a bit to stop it from flying around. Otherwise, the weather was perfect.

Any past brides do their hair, down? I know i always thought i'd wear it up but have been considering not... worried about the wind, any opinions?

I'm curious about this too. The back of my dress has really pretty lace so I will probably wear it up but I kinda prefer my hair down. I was thinking of seeing how windy it is when I'm there and making a last minute decision. Are you wearing a veil? I haven't decided yet.

I always envisioned my hair down, but after we decided on Mexico I knew I would have to put my hair up and I am so glad I did!  It was super windy and the humidity would have wrecked havoc on my hair.  In half the pictures my husband looks like he has a mo-hawk from the wind.  I am really glad I put it up because I didn't worry about it or fuss with it all night long!

@@Sabes44, i'm with you. That'll probably be what iwill do so i don't have to worry about it. haha

@kjb0528 I think so! I wasn't really sure at first but when i put my dress up she put a cathedral veil on me which i definitely didn't think i wanted until i saw it on. I am buying some of those weights for the veil that they make.  figured if it was a long veil i could step on it if it starts blowing too much. haha

I'm looking for something to wear in my hair though whether that be a fresh flower or some sort of clip or comb so when i take the veil out i still have something..

You girls all look so pretty in your dresses (i keep looking back at past posts!)

@@victoriasalv the same happened to me with the cathedral veil! My dress doesn't have any sort of train at all which was the only thing I didn't like. The long veil made it look more bridal, but I haven't decided for sure yet. I was looking at real touch flowers for my hair as one flower for your hair at the resort is around $40 I think and not sure how well it would last through the night.

We picked a date!!!! WOO HOO!!!! 2/25/17!!!

It being a Saturday, it doesn't seem like the Lobster House will be an option based on the past posts I read.  I like Los Olas but am worried about the additional light rental.  Are you brides still getting a $220 price quote?

Hey Ladies!

So happy I found this forum, and some awesome ERC brides!! I have 6 months left, time is flying!! Have you ladies decided on a photographer? I was looking at the packages the resort offers, and it seems expensive... I've been on the fence as to what I should do....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
