Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Recommended Posts

I did a burlap runner, hot pink, orange and white roses for the floral center piece and added a bunch of different votives.  I wanted it to be a bit more simple, it turned out perfect.  Except it was really windy at Los Olas, so the candles kept blowing out, but I get a ton of use out of them now at home!

@@kathryn78 - I'm not exactly sure what they do about things that have been left behind, but I would imagine they let you use it. You would just probably have to specifically ask for it.

I only had my bouquet, a bouquet for my sister (extra $), the boutonnieres and a small centerpiece for the ceremony table. Just be warned that the flowers outside of what's included in your package are expensive! My sister's bouquet, which was a smaller version of mine was $99.

We did a beach ceremony, cocktail hour on the pier and reception at Las Olas. I would not have changed any of our locations. They were perfect.

We went through Maracas Mexico and they were excellent!!! We ordered 35 custom maracas (three colors), 35 custom paper fans (on the chairs at the ceremony) and 90 meters of custom papel picado for our welcome dinner. It was about $550 total and shipped straight to ERC without issue. I would HIGHLY recommend using them. They are very quick to respond, and their products are beautiful.

@@victoriasalv - We rented the vases directly from ERC. Three vases of three different sizes for each table. We brought the rest.

Okay, going picture crazy...

@@JenniferH114 - Absolutely breathtaking. Such great shots!!! And you both look so happy. I love the set up for the welcome dinner. Is that the restaurant area off where the buffet is (I've been there but its been a few years). I like that space too!

Where did you find the cute mini piñatas?

Also, was it difficult to fly down there with your décor? I'm already worrying about that...

@victorissalv - Thank you! Our welcome dinner was moved from the foyer to Oregano because of construction in the foyer at the time, but we were very happy with the move. The mini piñatas were from Amols. Oregano is the outside area near Barcelona and the Toscana. It was nice being at the end of the resort (not a lot of traffic).

We brought one extra suitcase (large) and one large duffle bag for the welcome bag items and décor we brought. It was not a problem at all. We put my dress and other things in the suitcase coming home, and we were able to fold up the duffle bag and put it in the suitcase when we were done with it. It actually worked out really well. Those two extra bags were packed to the brim on the way there, though. We also threw some miscellaneous items in some family members' bags (who are much lighter packers than us!) going there.

Ok so I've just been directed to this forum and for those who have already been married here, your suggestions/tips are welcomed.

My wedding is going to be very low key (Aug 2016), in the respect that we are only having 2 family guests present.  After calculating the cost from the price list that was sent to me, we have decided to opt for the Excellence Love Package (middle one).  Now I know this comes with private bar, hor d'oeuvres and meal etc but after weighing up the cost from the basic package, upgrading worked out cheaper by the time I had added in bridal hair & make up, upgrading the flowers, more pictures included etc than the basic package.  I just hope I'm not wasting my money by paying for the next package and I'm provided with the services I have paid for.

@@lynne1609 Welcome! I think you made a smart move doing that. We contimplated going for the lowest package but then after adding in all the extras it definitely was worth it to upgrade. I think you'll agree. There is an a la carte menu as well that has options if you only are going to add on a few extras but if you already did the math - i think you made the right decision! Are you doing dinner all together after?

@@JenniferH114 Genius idea about the duffel bag I didn't even think of that. I think I'll do what you did and make some of my family carry a few things down. I don't think I'll have tons, just Welcome Bag stuff and whatever I decide to use for centerpieces. Candles are easy to stuff in shoes and bags ;) haha and thank you for the idea of the Mini pinatas they are so cute.

@@victoriasalv Many thanks for the response.  I did calculate everything between the two tiers and what the difference was to add extra's on so thanks for advising this seems the best idea.  We are looking to have an intimate dinner near the beach as a 1st option.  I'm just waiting for the wedding planner to get back to me to sort out all the details.

@@lynne1609 - You are in such great hands at the ERC! I was so happy with how everything turned out for us. Except for being a bit windy, our day was honestly perfect. It was well worth the money we paid (for both our wedding and our ten day trip). Our guests also loved it, which made us feel good since we know they paid good money and took time away from family/work to be there. I had done so much research prior to locking in with the ERC, but I'm so glad we did. Flowers, hair, make-up, decoration set-up... all A+ for us!

I highly recommend going back through the pages here because you'll see a lot of photos and great information. This forum was such a big resource to me when planning.

Congratulations! It will be here before you know it. :)

@victoriasalv @JenniferH114 No we haven't been to this resort before.  We have been to the Moon Palace Grand and we contemplated this one for our Wedding as we loved it so much but TBH the Pier and Adults Only at ERC swayed it a little bit more for us, plus the communication that I've had from the hotel so far is a massive plus for me.  We have friends going to ERC tomorrow for their holiday.  I will be checking back through the pics but I already know how I want my hair and make up and it's not as stressful with not having to cater for a large congregation.  We arrive a week before we get married and then we will have a week to relax afterwards so it's definitely something to look forward too.  xx

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
