Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Angel did my hair and make-up, as well. He did a really great job. They use all MAC products. If you bring your own lashes they will put them on for you. I have really long hair, so mine took two hours total.

I did not use anything that other brides left, but I did leave almost all of my stuff there. I would imagine that the only useful items that were left are the chair sashes, if they will work with someone else's colors, a bunch of white starfish from the table décor and burlap table runners.

Also, we had thirty people on the pier for the cocktail hour, along with the Caribbean trio and our photographers and servers walking around. There was more than enough room.

Quick question. Which restaurant did you all choose to have your romantic dinner for two at? Jessica sent me a form to fill out and that was one of our questions. Not sure what it entails.

Also, does anyone know if you get the Honeymoon package with the upgraded wedding package?

@@JaimeCKL - We didn't end up choosing a restaurant because we never had a problem getting in anywhere. My suggestion would be to use it for the hibachi since that's the only restaurant you have to show up at 4:30pm for to make a reservation at 5:30 pm for later in the evening. We went to hibachi with about 25 of us, so the reservation through Jessica wouldn't have helped. Otherwise, we got in every restaurant within five minutes, if not immediately. I might add that for parts of our stay the entire resort was booked and we still never had an issue. I think one night a few people had to wait about 20 mins for the Lobster House, but the martini bar is nearby so no complaints from them.

You do get the basic honeymoon package.

@JamieCKL we chose Chez Isabell which is the "nicest" restaurant they have and in my opinion the most romantic, because it is more intimate and mostly just couples were dining there.  When we got back to our room they had drawn a beautiful bubble bath with rose petals and it was lovely!  Unfortunately my husband (still getting used to saying that!) had gotten a bit of Montezuma's revenge that evening :( and wasn't able to join in with me.  But it was a nice surprise I was not expecting!

@@Sabes44 and @@JenniferH114 - did your officiant stand in front of you at all times during the ceremony? Jessica told me they would stand in back so the photographer could get photos with the ocean in the back. How windy was it on the beach during the ceremony?

Also, how was your reception food? What choices did you go with?

Thank you!!

I know this has been asked before, but what time do you recommend hair and makeup for a 5:00pm wedding? I know I have a ton of time, but I was just told there are two other weddings the same day and I should select my venues and spa service times ASAP.

Thanks!

@@JaimeCKL - the spa normally suggest times. I'm getting married at 5 also and my hair appt starts at noon. But I know that's more than enough time! My MOH, mother, and mother-in-law are also getting their hair and makeup done, and I think their appts are around 1:30.

@@upstatekj - He stood on both sides at different points during the ceremony, which was nice. You can have a more religious ceremony or one focusing on love. We went with the "love' ceremony and it was perfect. The wind wasn't bad during the ceremony for us, but for pictures my veil was everywhere! We had to keep trying to tuck it under my arm to hold it in place. For the most part, all of the food we chose was awesome. I don't think there was anything that we regretted choosing, honestly.

@@JaimeCKL - I got my hair and make-up done at 12:30pm. It took a little over two hours total, but I have long hair. Our photog, Juan Navarro, came at 2:30pm, so I actually didn't get to the room until 2:45pm. We had plenty of time to get ready after that, but we were doing our first look before the ceremony, so we wanted to be ready for pics by 4:00pm.

@@JenniferH114 - Did you end up getting a civil or symbolic ceremony. I'm doing the civil and I'm wondering if I also get the choice. We were kind of bummed we couldnt' have our minister who is coming marry us so I was hoping to still have somewhat of a religious involvement in the ceremony.

@@JenniferH114 - did you request lobster for your reception? That entree sounds different than what Jessica gave me. I have "GRILLED FILET OF BEEF TENDERLOIN GLAZED WITH ROASTED PUMPKIN SEED SAUCE AND SCALLOPS  WITH SERRANO CILANTRO BUTTER ON PAPAYA MANGO RELISH SERVED WITH HORSERADISH-INFUSED MASHED POTATOES AND FRESH SEASONAL VEGETABLES" as my choice, but yours sounds better :) Anyone else have different entrees?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
