is the alcohol included in the wedding package? (i chose gold package)

I'm just curious why don't they give us a detailed list of things we might need and aren't included!

@@Giocivs88 we chose the gold package as well. Alcohol is included but be forewarned if you have foodies like my group the wine is shit!! I asked Jessica to send me a wine list it's ok so we plan on going into town and buying our own. Corkage is 20 per bottle but for people that work in fine dining it'll be worth the xtra coat

@@JenniferH114  not sure on that one.  Maybe there is another thread that has some of that information.   I kinda of think you should tip on how you feel the service was and not just case you feel like you should tip and that's coming from someone who is/was in the industry.  Not sure if anything is different since it is in Mexico...?

@@Giocivs88 hard liquor is included too.  Basically all liquor at the normal bars is available at the wedding bar.  I am pretty much all done!  Except for a few little things, but nothing major.  I am a event planner so that helps me out a little bit!  Do you still have a lot left??

You will get it all done!  I felt that way too, I did so much ahead of time and then lagged on final decisions, but actually made decisions pretty quickly once we sat down and forced ourselves to decide!

Hi ladies! I just recently joined and literally have spent all week going through this long post. how helpful and how wonderful it is to see how many people have selected ERC and know a heck of a lot more than I do! Our wedding is April 29, 2016, so we're a year out. I know a lot of you started planning months in advance so I'm glad I'm not alone! I've learned so much already.

My wedding is at 5pm on a Friday, and the reception is at the Lobster House. I'm a little nervous because I'm told they cannot reserve it until about 2 months out but I guess I shouldn't stress over it! We are doing a civil ceremony. I had a couple questions for you all.

- Does anyone know the "agenda" or order of how things go in the legal ceremony? I read some people did rings after signing the document. How was that? My fiancé is worried the signing of the documents might kind of take away from the beautiful ceremony but I don't think it bothers me at all! Seems like, something special to do.

- We're doing a welcome dinner with just apps, is anyone else doing this? We're doing it at the Garibaldi square. I went to ERC a few years ago so I know the resort grounds pretty well I think! Looking forward to going back

- How early did you all send save the dates, and invites? We plan to send out save the dates next month but not sure when to send the actual invites.

- Has anyone done the civil ceremony but had anyone speak during? I read on an old thread that they brought their own minister but then just signed with the judge on the documents. I was just curious is anyone had any insight on this. We have a minister that will be joining us and I'd love for him to play a role in our wedding.

I'm sure i'll have tons more questions but so happy to "meet" you ladies!

@victoriasalv - Welcome and congratulations! I think you'll find that this site is such an incredible resource. It has been such a huge help.

We are doing a symbolic ceremony, but I still don't know much about what will be said, etc. Ha! We just plan to go with the flow. :) In regards to the legal ceremony, I have read multiple places that they do put a lot of emphasis on the signing of the documents. It's basically the most important part.

We are doing a welcome dinner, but with a sit-down dinner and two hour open bar. Originally I had chosen Garibaldi Square, but after a site visit in November, I quickly changed the location. Of course, everyone has different preferences and opinions, but after seeing it in person I just felt like we would've felt squished in the back corner of the resort. I also didn't like the layout of the area for a sit down dinner. It might work/flow much better for standing apps and drinks. We moved it to the foyer because I loved the ocean view from there, but now, as of this past week, we had to switch to Oregano due to construction in the foyer.

We sent our STDs July 2014 and invites in early December 2014 with an RSVP date two months before the wedding date. I figured most people will know if they are able to go on a trip by two months ahead of time, and that gave us time to have numbers for ordering certain things we had left on our list. Most of the "major" planning and decisions were done by December. Since then we have just been wrapping up gift bag items and decorations. Also, we booked an outside photographer and put our deposit down with him in July 2014.

Jessica has been a huge help, so don't be afraid to ask her questions. It is typical for responses to take a few days, but I have noticed as my wedding is approaching I am getting responses within a day or so.

A year will FLY by!! I cannot believe we are exactly four weeks from heading to the ERC. Enjoy planning and feel free to ask away! All of the girls here have been great!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
