Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies I was thinking of using only one song for the bridal party and myself. It's around 4min long, will you marry me is the song. Forget the artist it's fun and upbeat. Any thoughts?

@@hapykat - How many bridsmaids do you have? I've heard the walk is not far - around 30 seconds for each. I'm toying with the same idea because it's a relatively quick walk.

I have a question about flowers! What kind of flowers did you guys choose?  I've read that orchids, dahlias, field poppies and bougainvillea are native flowers to Mexico so you'd think they would not be that expensive. I've sent Jessica a few different bouquet photos and each time she comes back with outrageous pricing: $320, $220  - this is on top of my gold package!

I asked her for a list of flowers and pricing so we'll see. But I'm wondering if it's more about the color of the flower than the actual flower itself? any insight on this?

Only 2 by the way do the groomsmen go down the aisle with the maids I can remember?

With respect to the flowers I replaced tulips in my bouquet PB-11 for Cala lillies. It cost me 65 xtra

Depends what you want. I had my groomsmen walk with my bridesmaids. But some have the men all at the 'alter' and the girls walk alone.

@@Sabes44 - I can't say for sure, but most resorts do not serve bottles because of safety concerns. They break too easily and there would likely be glass all over the beach and near pools.

In other news, I decided I'm going with BB-32 for my bouquet and then I'm getting a smaller version of that bouquet in all white for my sister (MOH) who will be wearing a fuchsia dress. Her bouquet is $95usd.

Also, the resort will hang our papel picado for the welcome party for $50usd. I just like mentioning prices I'm told because I know there have been some discrepancies in the past! :)

I know I mentioned this a bunch of times before, but we are making our own (three total). We are bringing everything except for the vases, which we are renting for $4 each.

Centerpiece made by my mom :)

We also have burlap runners, starfish, custom drink coasters, colored straws for drinks, custom menus and custom maracas, which will all add to the decor.

Thank you @@JenniferH114, that's what I thought.

I asked Jessica if we could do 4 smaller centerpieces instead of the larger ones.  Simple pink, orange and white roses and I am bringing a bunch of votives and a burlap table runner.

I thought you could chose 2 options if you gave them all the selections ahead of time?  I decided to not even offer that, too much work (I do events/weddings for a living and didn't want to deal with it lol!).  I just told guests it was a surf and turf and to let us know if they preferred the vegetarian option.   I figured there is plenty of food around to eat!

@Giocivs88 - Jessica will let you choose two options for dinner but you have to give her the total counts ahead of time and then you'll need assigned seating so they know who gets what. I was going to do that at first but then decided against it because I didn't want to deal with it. We mixed and matched from the menus and chose the steak & lobster for our main course. For the welcome dinner we are doing the chicken and salmon as the main course.

Here are our two menus:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
