@@JenniferH114 totally makes sense. We only had the photographer come 30 minutes early to the room because we didn't want to pay for the extra hours. She came at 2pm photgrapher for about 30 minutes...then went to the pier to get the shots ahead fo the ceremony and we got married at 3pm. If you have the photgrapher coming that early you definitely may want to go earlier :)

@@saramatthews  that is what I was thinking with the photographer.  Doing 30 min of getting ready shots (I don't care about those shots too much) and then a 30 min first look.  Did you do a first look too?  The photographer said 30 min of getting ready shots is not enough, but I have seen it done and it works.  Maybe more time for the first look so we have more time to spend with our guests....

Just jumping in. We had scheduled 'getting ready shots' for 1 hour. By the time she came from the boys room we had maybe 45 mins. I'm trying to recall if I actually

had the whole 45 mins as I know the shuttle came for our 3pm ceremony and it

Takes 10 mins but did we start on time? Lol. So my feelings are if you want only 30 mins it will work if it's a full 30 mins of pictures. If half of that is getting you to the ceremony/ first look site you may be disappointed. She took some getting ready, some of my special items, some of me and the girls and some of me alone. These are some of my most favorite shots. I think you'll appreciate them too :)

I had the opposite problem. They wanted us to start at 11 for 3pm. And I made them switch it to 10!! Which a small lunch in there we didn't get back to the room until 130-140 and photographer came for 215 ish. Thankfully I changed my times. I had 4 of us for hair and makeup.

did you ask for a specific type of flower? perhaps it's the vase rental that increases the price?

@@Giocivs88 - We are renting three sets of the vases in the last photo you posted (or the equivalent) and Jessica said it'd only be $12 per set ($4 per vase). We are making our own centerpieces though, so we are literally just renting the empty vases.

Here's what we are doing:

also has anyone ever used elisabeth medina for photographer? heard she's really good.

I remember reading earlier in this thread that girls have used her and loved it. I contacted her and she is pricier than a few others - a 6 hour shoot is $5250. her photos are pretty amazing.

@@upstatekj @@Giocivs88 - I thought her photos looked really great, but her prices were really high. We weren't looking to skimp on pictures but $5000+ is over double what other photogs we liked were charging., Plus we knew we wanting the six hour shoot to capture the whole day.

@@saramatthews

Hi I was wondering if the makeup artist did any contouring? Also what did you use for your ceremony songs? How many do we need? I'm not really sure? The groom and ushers will be waiting, so then we need one for the bridal party then another one for myself?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
