@@Giocivs88 unfortunately the room we wanted (2 story with terrace) is not available as an upgrade.  We did get an upgrade from the travel agent (by doing a webinar) and luckily I was able to pass that along to someone else.  I hope with 75 guests you get something!!

Just as an interesting FYI for the ladies getting married in the Feb/march timeline. I spoke to Jessica Moreno who is my WC and she said that they have a new Judge for the resort who does the ceremonies so that the time you book with them may be subject to change (time of day) as they arrange the time of day with the judge about 2-3 days in advance for when he can come. She also moved me from 5:30 to 4pm as she said it is already darkish at around 5pm so that is fine with me.

I actually was initially planning to do a photo booth and just did not get around to it.  By the time it came down to putting that together I was so overwhelmed and had soooo many things I was already packing so I let the idea go.  I would say there is plenty of room at the Lobster House to set up a table for a photo booth.  I do not have any ideas for background though.  I was planning to set it up as my guest sign in table and have different props and a polaroid camera.  That way the guests could take fun and silly pics.  I was going to have a pen and glue sticks with a book for guests to glue the pics into and write messages.  I was planning to use that as my guest book.  I was not going to have any particular background.  I think you could probably do it without the background and let guests get creative on their own.  They have lots of fun props at Michaels that would easily fit in your suitcase.

For my guest book I instead collected postcards while we were in Mexico.  I had guests write little messages on the back of the postcards and just drop them into the card basket.  It was fun to read what everyone had to say the next morning.

Congrats ladies on your upcoming weddings.  I was married at ERC last August and it was amazing!  Do not worry about a thing!  It will go smooth.  And Giocivs88 you are not too late!  You really can't nail too many details down with Jessica until it gets closer to your date anyway so you are right on time!  Let me know if you have any questions (I come on this site from time to time b/c I am still getting over the depression that my wedding is over!).  Also check out wedding pics.  I posted some in a gallery in my profile.

@@HNeal lol Heidi I have post wedding depression as well! I don't know if it will ever end :) Weddings are just SO perfect in paradise!

I wanted to let you ladies with upcoming weddings know that ERC has been doing some renovations. I have 'liked' them on FB and they had mentioned they remodeled the Lobster House. But those of you who are planning to go to the disco instead of hiring a DJ it looks as if they turned Alegria into a sports bar. I'm not sure if that means there will still be dancing at night or not. Honestly Alegria looked old, dark and yucky and no one was ever in there during our 11 day stay. We checked a few times. So I think it's a good thing they remodeled it...it definitely needed it. I would ask Jessica more about this if you are still planning on wanting to go somewhere after the reception. Also they added a tapas restaurant! Fun!

Happy planning!

Thanks for the heads up!  I didn't know about the renovations or the facebook page.  I will ask Jessica her opinion as well, thanks!

hi ladies, so i just got my first few emails from jessica, I'm so confused.. she gave me a link from the decorator... i saw prices for linens and chairs and wooden gazebos... so none of that is included in the gold package? i have to pay for everything separate? like napkins, table cloths, chairs, tables, cocktail hour decoration? i just emailed her back to ask her what is that comes in the package in detail lol

is any of you girls thinking or are having the reception on the beach? or did any of you who already got married have the reception on the beach?  i have a large group coming so I'm considering having it on the sand rather that in one of the restaurants

That's interesting @@Giocivs88, I wonder if its something new?  I know they have changed a few of their prices for stuff, but Jessica didn't mention anything like that.

It looks like we will have 26-30 guests and I am debating if a DJ is worth it.  Based on our timing we will only have a 2.5 hour reception and about an hour and half of dancing after dinner.  Not sure if it is worth it to pay a DJ full price for almost half the normal reception time.  Any feedback??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
